Naughty Nights Press Release and Giveaway – Kiki Howell, “At War In The Willows”

At War In The Willows trilogy by Kiki Howell is available as one book in both print and ebook format on January 31st 2013.
The queen of paranormal erotica, Kiki Howell has captured our hearts with her trilogy, At War In The Willows. The first book, The Vampire’s Witch was quickly followed by The Vampire’s Wolf and ended with The Vampire’s Human.
The Willows is a resort town run by vampires, werewolves and witches. Here, their true identities are kept secret from humans, and intimate relations between the individual clans are strictly forbidden.
When it becomes known that the vampire Amberlyn has fallen in love with the werewolf Kane, the tedious line of their co-existence has been crossed. Caught in the crossfire of this revelation, Drake, the vampire clan leader and Amberlyn’s maker, is killed along with an innocent witch. These deaths spark a series of horrific events leading to an all out War In The Willows.
Unexpected close encounters, bodies ripe with need, and situations beyond their control lead to forbidden relationships. Now three vampires, a witch, a werewolf and a human must ride along the edges of the rules. They will attempt once unthinkable romantic entanglements despite all those who oppose their relationships, while fighting for their lives as well.
With the Willows full of violence and bloodshed, meetings and magic amiss, will the clans ever be able to find peace among them again? Or, will this war destroy the Willows?

Good plot, great characters and sexy enough to raise the temperature in my house about 20 degrees. A real page turner! ~4/5 Stars by Angela Holtz:

Reviews for Book I, The Vampire’s Witch

“This is the first adult book I’ve read by Kiki Howell. And it was delicious! Good plot, great characters and sexy enough to raise the temperature in my house about 20 degrees… It’s a very fast read, only about 50 pages. But it’s a real page turner!” ~4/5 Stars by Lilac Wolf

“Ms Howell weaves a spell binding web that ensnares the mind and lets the reader drift away in to another world. I highly look forward to the next two books in this series!” ~4/5 Stars by Phoenix Johnson

“This is a sexy but short vampire and witch story which takes place in the middle of an upcoming war between three species. I can’t wait for the next book in the series.” ~ 4 Stars from Linda Tonis, Member of the Paranormal Romance Review Team

Reviews for Book II, The Vampire’s Wolf

“This is the second book in the series and picks up exactly where the first when left off… This is a short story with explicit sex. I can’t wait for the next book to find out what Devin’s story is and to continue learning about Isaac and Amberlyn.”~ 4 Stars from Linda Tonis, Member of the Paranormal Romance Review Team

Ever since she was young, Kiki Howell has loved to listen to a well-woven tale with real characters, inspired plots, and delightful resolutions. Kiki could spend hours lost in a book, and soon she knew that creating lives, loves, and losses with just words had to be the greatest thing that she could do. To that end, she pursued her study of literature and writing, earning a bachelor’s degree in English. She then followed in a Master’s program in Creative Writing.
“After a long break having my boys, I finally just had to write again. And, as soon as I gave the stories the space, they entered it. It’s both awesome and humbling to find the words in my mind become characters on a page and create their lives.”
She has now had over thirty stories published between eleven different publishers. Kiki could not be more thrilled or grateful to see her creations polished and out in the real world. Please look around. Although a bit of caution, most of her stories tend to hang out on the graphically sexy side of town.
In May, 2011, Kiki was chosen as an Ohioana Book Festival author for her novel, Torn Asunder. And, in March 2012, Kiki was awarded Bestselling Author for Naughty Nights Press, also earning two Silver Stars from All Romance Ebooks for her NNP novellas: Love, Creativity and Magick; The Vampire’s Witch; and most recently Mystical Mayhem. Kiki’s At War in the Willows Series has also been nominated for Best Series of 2012 by Sizzling PR
Kiki resides in the Midwest with her incredibly handsome and talented, singer/songwriter husband Stephen Howell and two children. When she is not writing, she is spending time with her family, reading, baking or knitting.
Her biggest dream is to have a novel she writes be made into a movie that her husband creates the soundtrack for, and then cruise to Alaska with her family on the money they make.

Interview with Edward Tailor

1. Welcome,
Edward Tailor. For those who might not be familiar with you, would you be a
dear and tell the reader’s a little about yourself? How did you get your start in
the writing business?

ED: First of all, thanks
for the interview.  As for me, I’m a very
new author of BDSM Erotica, having just had my first book, Cameron Part One,
published in October of last year with Horny Devil Publishing.  In December, I published a short story in the
Naughty Not Nice Christmas Anthology and just last week on January 22, Cameron
Part 2 published.  Born and raised in
Essex, United Kingdom, I graduated from school in 1986.  Working as an electrician, I spend a lot of
time on my own, so I listen to tons of books on audio.  I’ve always been an avid reader, or listener,
but just recently moved into writing first with role playing and now short
stories.  On a personal note, I have a wife of almost 20 years and teenage
son and we live in England.
2.  All writers fear
the dreaded “block”. Please tell us how you handle it.

ED: For the most part I take a break, maybe
go off and do something else for a bit.
Once I have a chance to clear my head and a bit of distance I find I can
plow on through.
3. Contrary to what some people envision about a romance
writer’s life, it’s not all glitz and glam. Well not for the majority of us.
With that bubble sadly busted, when you’re not writing, how to do you spend
your time?

ED: I usually keep pretty
busy.  Actually, it’s somewhat of a
challenge to find time to write.  As I
mentioned, I am an electrician so I work every day, either five or six days
each week.  In the evenings and on
weekends I do try and write when I am not spending time with my family or doing
some work on the house.  Not very
glamorous, is it?
4. I know many writers, such as Dirk and myself, keep their
pastime/career a secret. Do those close to you know you write? If so, what are
their thoughts?

ED: Well my wife knows, of
course, and she’s very proud of me and extremely supportive.  Other than that I have a few close friends
who know and they’re quite supportive as well.
The fans have been outstanding and the feedback I’ve gotten has
definitely kept me motivated to write more.
5. Will you share with us your all time favorite authors? If
you’re like me, it’s a long list so give us your top ten.

ED: It’s a mix for
me.  I like a variety of reads.  I’d say my top ten, not in any particular
order,  are: JR Ward, Stephen King, James
Herbert, Clive Barker, Jeaniene Frost, Christine Feehan, Larissa Ione, Terry
Pratchet, George RR Martine, and JK Rowling.
6. If you could choose one book to go to the big screen,
yours or otherwise, which book would you choose and whom would you love see
casted in the parts?

ED: For sure I’d choose one of JR Ward’s books,
as I just love her Black Dagger Brotherhood Series. My favorite of the series is
Book 4, Butch and Marissa’s story.  I
think for Butch I’d have David Boreanaz play him and for Marissa I’d select
Reese Witherspoon.
7. Would you care to tell us what you’re working on now?
That is if it’s not top-secret information. If so, just whisper it in my ear. I
swear it’ll go no further.

ED: I’m happy to share.  Nothing top secret here.  In my The Pit series, Cameron Parts One and
Two are out so I am working on Harvey’s story.
Part One was already submitted and part Two is underway.  I’ve also been working with Kassandra Cox on
co-authoring a few books.  We’ve turned
in one and are anticipating edits any day and our second is in the works.  We have a few ideas for more after that as
well.  With the limited time I have,
that’s about all I can manage right now.
8. Where can we find your stories and is there a particular
reading order?

ED: You can find my
stories on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, All Romance Ebooks, Smashwords and
Kobo.  Just search for Edward
Tailor.  For The Pit Series, you should
read Cameron Part One before Part Two.
Harvey’s Story come after Cameron’s.
The Christmas Anthology Naughty Not Nice contains my Hansel and Gretel
short which is stand alone and my stories with Kass are all stand alone as
9. Would you please share how your present and future fans
can contact you?

ED: I’d love to and I would love to hear from them!
I have a Facebook page, a Facebook Author page, a website, and author
pages on Amazon and Goodreads.

Links for
each are below.
10. Before we wrap up this enlightening interview, do you
have anything else you’d like to share? The stage is all yours.

ED: Only a big thank you to you for having me
here, to my family and friends for all of the support and encouragement and of
course, to the wonderful fans that have been reading my stories and encouraging
me to write more.

Thank you, Edward, for stopping by. Through this chat, I learned we have similar favorite authors in common (Christine Feehan and JR Ward). *smiles*

Mark your calendars, folks, because Edward will be back here again very soon. (February 22nd)

What a pleasant surprise…..

How surprised was I when Vampirique Dezire, from Blood, Lust and Erotica, notified me she nominated Dirk and Kam’s place for a blog award. What a freaking sweet ass woman!

The Very Inspirational Blogger Award

After the shock wore off, I got my 7 hours of beauty sleep, took off my mommy hat for a few minutes, and sat down to think who could I nominate? There are so many fantastic bloggers out there. The ones I selected below are the blogs that I frequent quite regularly. There are more I visit but I stopped at fifteen per the rules. See, I can follow the rules….. (smiles)
The Rules:

Display the award logo on your blog.
Link back to the person who nominated you.
State 7 things about yourself.
Nominate 15 bloggers for this award and link to them.
Notify those bloggers of the nomination and the award’s requirements.
That’s all!

Seven Things about Me

  1. Over ten years ago, I had aspirations of being a children’s author. I wrote a book of poetry but sadly, it was not picked up. However, I used the poetry in my classroom and my students seemed to enjoy the rhymes very much. It helped them learn their colors and numbers in a fun way.
  2. Three things I will never consume because the smell makes me gag: peanuts, coffee and peaches.
  3. I prefer caramel over chocolate, plastic over real flowers (no watering), and I love to work outdoors. I find chopping wood fun.
  4. I still play video games. 🙂
  5. My favorite fast food restaurant is Taco Bell. I love their Nacho Cheese Beef Gorditas and Fresco Tacos. I joke around all the time one day I will have my own franchise and in my office will be a treadmill. That way, I can dine all day and not worry about the calorie intake.
  6. I have a scarf and knee high collection.
  7. I’ve been married to Dirk going on 15 years this summer. We have two wonderful kids – teenage son and almost four year old daughter.
(Blog followers: Nobody actually votes. It’s a pay it forward type of award. Yup, we are just spreading the blogger love.)

High Marks For “Welcome to the Neighborhood”

Don’t you love it when you wake up to HAPPY news. I received an email this morning and it directed me to The Romance Studio’s website. “Welcome to the Neighborhood” got rave reviews and 4 hearts!

This story begins with Meaghan finishing a workout in her home, wondering if her neighbors are watching. We next move next door to find Miguel watching her from his office and becoming aroused. His partner Whit enters and he is also aroused by Meaghan and the two start having hot, carnal relations in the office. We return to Meaghan who has seen them and begins to watch, not having any idea before this how excited it would make her. Both Whit and Miguel are almost obsessed with their new neighbor but haven’t really had the gumption to see if she’d be interested in joining them as their ‘third’.

We learn a little at a time about Meaghan and what brought her to move into the house next door to the boys. The boys have been living together for six months or so as a couple, but they both seem to want Meaghan as much as they want each other. Apparently as full of attraction and desire as the three of them are, they spend a lot of time watching each other and either masturbating or having sex. I will be completely honest here, I was afraid since the first thirty percent of the story involved them watching each other that this would be only a story about voyeurs and I didn’t select it for that kind of story.

Luckily, Ms. Brook and Mr. Tyler did not leave me hanging. It was very amusing the way the two of them told the story about the three characters. I really liked Meaghan, and how she reacted to certain things, sexual and otherwise. Whit and Miguel were great. The biggest criticism I have is the length of the story. It is only twenty one pages and I totally think it needs at least a few, or ten pages more! I’ve read and reviewed their first joint effort together, New Beginnings, and it was great. And yes, I will be reading more as they release it!

Overall rating:
Sensuality rating: Very sensual
