Review of “Dragon Trap: Coalition Mates, Book 5” – Sarah Marsh

Dragon Trap, Coalition Mates Book 5.

All Marisol Lewis had ever wanted was a family, but her ex-husband back on Earth made sure that would never happen while they were together. Now? After waking up on an alien planet, she has a plan, and she’s more determined than ever to see it through on her own.

Luca and Baelion are dragon shifters with a troubled past. Shunned by their own people, they now work for the Coalition Council taking rescue jobs that no one else can do. They manage to find Marisol when she gets abducted–but their rescue plans take a wrong turn, and they all end up stranded on a dangerous, quarantined planet.

Mari finds out the hard way that life often gets in the way of best-laid plans…and dragon shifters most definitely do get in the way of hers.

Good thing for her that dragons are naturally quite stubborn once they decide they want something–and they’ve decided she’s theirs.

“You’re so wet for us already,” the low sexy timbre of Luca’s voice only made her want him more. “I need to taste you.”

“Later, Luca. I need you right now.” She moaned as Baelion took one of her aching nipples deep into his mouth. “I can’t wait. Please.”

She boldly moved her legs farther apart, planting her feet flat on the mats. It was an unmistakable invitation—one Luca didn’t disappoint her on. He quickly rid himself of his shorts and then moved between her thighs, rubbing the swollen, thick head of his cock along her wet folds.

“Luca, stop teasing me.”

His only answer was a low growl as he slowly pushed his length inside of her, his eyes locked on hers. It was extremely intense. His gaze never left hers as he filled her up.

“Watching you take him is so fucking hot, Mari.” Bae’s voice from beside her snagged her attention. His own blue eyes were locked to where their bodies joined. He ran one finger down her stomach until it lightly made a slow path around her swollen clit, causing her to moan and tighten around the hard shaft buried deep within her.

“She’s so warm and wet, Bae. Feel for yourself.” Luca grabbed Baelion’s hand and guided it lower to where the root of him met her body.

Mari’s hips bucked up when Bae continued to rub a trail along her folds and then back up to her clit. Meanwhile Luca set a leisurely pace, thrusting in slowly and then retreating. She could feel the pressure building inside of her, and she sighed when Baelionmoved to capture her lips in a slow kiss.

The two of them continued their sensual torment, never letting her set the pace or tempt them to lose control. Bae had her arms gently pinned above her head with one hand. The thrill of being completely under their control seemed to electrify all of her senses. They were true to their word, completely tender in their care for her—but there was an intensity to their actions that was different than before. They were loving her so intently that it was her undoing.

“Oh God.” She whimpered into his mouth as Luca’s firm but steady pace lit her up until she was just on the cusp of orgasm. “Please, I need to come.”

“Come for us, little one,” Bae murmured as he finally pinched down on her swollen button, causing her to spasm all around Luca’s shaft.

“Yeeeessss.” She moaned as she came. All of the tension in her body finally broke and swept her away in a warm rush of pleasure.  Luca pushed deep one last time before he joined her, groaning her name.

Baelion still slowly stroked her as she came down from the high, Luca still buried deep inside of her. There was certainly something to be said for slow and steady. It was a different type of pleasure than the passionate coupling from their previous encounter, but no less impactful. It was more intimate. There was more tenderness in their touch, and it melted her.

“How are you feeling, Mari?” Luca leaned forward to slowly sip at her lips. She opened her eyes when he stopped, only to see that he had moved to kiss Baelion as well.

“Much more relaxed,” she murmured, hypnotized at the sight of their lips and tongues moving together. Her satiated libido suddenly roared to life once again as Luca withdrew his spent shaft from her and settled himself this time behind Baelion.

“And what shall we do with you, love?” Luca reached over the other man’s hip, moving lower until he grasped Bae’s turgid length and stroked it slowly. “Let us take care of you now.”

“I don’t want to make Mari sore.” Bae’s voice was quiet and strained with desire as she joined her hand with Luca’s on the other man’s cock.

“I’m fine, Bae,” she whispered, leaning in to lick at his neck. “I promise.”

“Move closer and give me your leg, Marisol.” Luca released Bae’s cock and pulled her thigh up to rest over both of their hips, opening her up to them.

She moaned when the wet tip of Baelion’s cock rubbed up against her sensitive clit, loving how hard he was for them. When he slowly slid into her, they both let out a long breath. He was slightly thicker than Luca but felt oh so good as he stretched her.

“Neither of you move.” Luca’s voice was thick with desire once again as he reached for the remainder of the julla leaves and collected the thick gel on his fingers before returning to his position behind his mate.

Baelion tightened his arms around Mari’s waist as he groaned low in her ear, his hips bucking slightly against her. She had a pretty good idea what Luca had done, and when he was once again tight against Bae’s back, she leaned over and kissed him, moving her hips slowly, working the thick length inside of her.

“Ahh, Goddess, this feels amazing.” Bae panted as Luca began to thrust into him and Mari continued to move along his shaft. “It’s too much. I can’t last long.”

She had a feeling that was Luca’s intention as he bit down on Bae’s shoulder, making the other man cry out as his hips bucked furiously, taking her breath away every time he slammed against her swollen clit. Mari could feel the force of Luca’s thrusts as he took Bae’s ass.

“Do you like being fucked by both of us at the same time, love?” Luca whispered into Bae’s ear, the dirty words only increasing her desire.

“Yes, I love it,” was Bae’s breathless response, sweat beading at his temple and then slowly making its way down the side of his face.

“Mari, come on his cock.” Luca locked eyes with her. “Make him come inside of you.”

She nodded and bit her lip as she reached down between their straining bodies. Her fingers slipped in the wetness before finding purchase, and all it took was two passes over her clit before her orgasm hit. She tightened around Bae’s shaft, urging him to find his own release.

“Mari!” he bellowed before sinking deep inside of her one last time. She could feel the tremors flow through him as he came hard, his peak, in turn, bringing Luca as well. His roar of completion rang out into the quiet night.

First Marisol discovered her husband, Jordan, had a secret vasectomy. Then, she wakes up on a alien planet, abducted by slave traders. Most women probably would be curled up in a ball, crying for a way home (Earth). But Marisol isn’t like most women. She decided to embrace the change and move forward with her plans to have a child. It involved signing a contract for donating her genetic material for a surrogate but, in the end, she would be able to afford the in-vitro treatments to birth her own offspring. Sounds pretty straightforward. No fuss, no muss. Oh, no, things definitely didn’t go as smoothly as she hoped.

She was kidnapped AGAIN and this time landed herself on a dino inhabited planet where there were monkeys with poisonous bites.

Things did take an upswing for her though. She wasn’t alone. She had two sexy men (dragon shifters) by her side. Her dragon rescuers used nature’s materials to create her a nice saddle with seat belts for an easier and safer riding experience. Oh, lets not forget they gave her a thorough and pleasurable riding experience while in human form, too — on more than one occasion. 😉

So really, when people say things might look better with a change of scenery, I guess they are right. Marisol only needed to travel lightyears away from home to find her HEA.

I’d like to end this review with a few final, quick thoughts.

**Dino meat taste like chicken? Really, not surprised.  🙂

**Mitch from How I Met Your Mother (episode, The Naked Man) was right —  The naked man move will work “two out of three times, guaranteed”…. Poor Delegate Bromm, better luck next time.  😛

**14 month long pregnancy? Umm, pass!

Based off my quick three thoughts, I can’t see how anyone could pass up this short story. Really, the entire series is a must read!

When you’re writing a book series, the last thing you want is for your readers to grow tiresome of reading the same ideas. It’s a difficult task to continue a storyline without it growing stale, repetitive and losing its appeal.

I’ve been reading KC since the start. For me, her books stand out among the crowd because she pairs the unlikeliest of couples. She doesn’t have couples immediately succumb to their desires and live HEA (happily ever after).

No, she has each pair show their strengths and weaknesses and how they are better-stronger together than apart. And yes, through this there are some bah chicka wah wah moments. Hell, this is a paranormal romance series so bring on the nakedness!

In the instance of Shadow’s Seduction, readers will most definitely see action of the lustful kind. Two men, vamp and demon, will find themselves mated and engaging in some panty-wetting scenes. There’s biting, sucking, domination, and horn licking.  KINKY! 😉

There’s also missions, laughter, heartache, and heart break.

And for the ending….

These two sexy paranormal gents are officially mates but all is not quiet. They are about to go on another mission to save Mina, Mirceo’s sister. (Cliffhanger)

No matter your sexual orientation, gender, race, color, you can find yourself in an abusive relationship. Man, woman, anyone can be abused or be the abuser.

In a search, I discovered 1 out of 4 women and 1 out of 7 men will be abused by an intimate partner. That astounded me.

When you seek out and find love, it’s supposed to be a joyous occasion. You shouldn’t fear for your life. You should be happy to wake up, come home, or see your partner’s face. You should lean into their touch and not shy away from it.

Jeya did step away from her (female) abuser, Rayne, and I respected her strength to do so. However, like most victims, she went back thinking things would change. And like others painfully discover, it doesn’t.

Luckily for Jeya, she had people watching her back, sickened by the abuse she suffered, and willing to help her move on. Renee depicted the emotional, physical and psychological abuse men and women face every minute of every day. Like Roman, I was angry and befuddled how anyone could go back to an abuser but this is where mental manipulation comes into play.

For the outcome of the story, Renee projected one plausible and highly possible outcome to such a real life scenario/plot. Her story may not be labeled a biography but I know many individuals will feel as if they are reading and reliving their own horrific tale.

For those who deal with abuse, please don’t suffer. You deserve better in life. You deserve a lifetime full of love not days/hours/minutes shrouded in a layer of fear, pain, and suffering of any kind.

Renee Cronin is a self-professed devourer of knowledge, and a voracious reader. She began writing in earnest in 2005, when the characters in her head became so loud she was forced to tell their stories, or risk getting swept away into the abyss of her imagination. Renee has since used writing as a personal outlet to express her feelings, ideas, views, thoughts, and opinions about the world and the issues that impact her on a deep personal and societal level. (And of course writing also quiets the voices in her head of the many characters that are yearning to have their stories told.) Renee’s inspiration to publish is in large part due to the overwhelming display of encouragement, and support from family and friends, who believe she has a gift with words that need to be shared with world. Born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts, she works in the social work field avidly advocating and supporting the varied needs of the people in her community. Renee is a bibliophile with a transcendent love for words. Her soul yearns for the acoustic stylings from a plethora of musical genres. As she continues on this journey of published author she hopes to keep her readers captivated and pining for more.

Review of “Vespers” and “Bonfire” (Hours of the Night Book 1 and 1.5)- Irene Preston & Liv Rancourt

Thaddeus Dupont has had over eighty years to forget…

The vampire spends his nights chanting the Liturgy of the Hours and ruthlessly disciplines those unnatural urges he’s vowed never again to indulge. He is at the command of the White Monks, who summon him at will to destroy demons. In return, the monks provide for his sustenance and promise the return of his immortal soul.

Sarasija Mishra’s most compelling job qualification might be his type O blood…

The 22-year-old college grad just moved across the country to work for some recluse he can’t even find on the internet. Sounds sketchy, but the salary is awesome and he can’t afford to be picky. On arrival he discovers a few details his contract neglected to mention, like the alligator-infested swamp, the demon attacks, and the nature of his employer’s “special diet”. A smart guy would leave, but after one look into Dupont’s mesmerizing eyes, Sarasija can’t seem to walk away. Too bad his boss expected “Sara” to be a girl.

Falling in love is hard at any age…

The vampire can’t fight his hungers forever, especially since Sara’s brought him light, laughter and a very masculine heat. After yielding to temptation, Thaddeus must make a choice. Killing demons may save his soul, but keeping the faith will cost him his heart.

When an author sets out to write any story, no matter the genre, he or she ponders how they can make their story different, stand out among the crowd. For stories centering around vampires, it’s hard to come up with a unique twist that’ll keep you firmly planted in a reader’s mind. Marvel comics brought us Blade, the day-walking vamp. Irene Preston & Liv Rancourt delivered us Thaddeus Dupont, a vampire who is unique in his own right.

Thaddeus had heighten senses, mind control, slept like the dead, and had superior speed and strength compared to normal men. However, he had a few slight differences that’s usually not synonymous with the bloodsuckers. Most authors don’t mention a vampire having a heartbeat. However, Thaddeus had a faint one. Holy water and crosses have been known to be a vampire’s kryptonite. Him, no effect. Also, how many vampires in the books/movies/shows you’ve entertained yourself with had a vampire working with the church? How many vampires do you recall pray, quote scriptures?

Thaddeus worked with the church in hopes of earning his soul back. He reminded me of Angel (tv show and character). Another vampire who battled evil, day in and day out. Like Angel, Thaddeus battled his dark urges and, despite all odds, found love.

With all the positives regarding “Vespers”, one area didn’t ring true to me. I get Sara’s desperation to help out HIS family, including accepting a job 3000 miles away without actually meeting the bossman. Desperate times call for desperate measures and all that. However if my boss turned out to be a bloodsucker and I just watched him DINE AND DASH, I think I would’ve reacted a bit differently than Sara. He just found out fiction became fact in a bloody way. Maybe it’s the girl in me, but I might’ve screamed a whole lot of obscenities such as: “What the f*ck!?” “Holy f*ck!” Or, “*!*@&#^$%*!*@&#^$%$%%*!*@&$%*!**@&” <—–> One gigantic combination of curse words in a long freak-out.

Seriously, Sara (mortal man) handled everything with a calmer head than me. Heck, he fought multiples demons. That takes big cajones!! HUGE!!

Speaking of huge, yup there was some man on man action. Quite intense but you’d expect a high level of intensity when a vampire is aroused.

(Vespers is a complete novel with no cliffhanger. It can be enjoyed as a standalone or read as the first book in the Hours of the Night series.)

****** OUT NOW ******

Silent night, holy hell.

Thaddeus and Sarasija are spending the holidays on the bayou, and while the vampire’s idea of Christmas cheer doesn’t quite match his assistant’s, they’re working on a compromise. Before they can get the tree trimmed, they’re interrupted by the appearance of the feu follet. The ghostly lights appear in the swamp at random and lead even the locals astray.

When the townsfolk link the phenomenon to the return of their most reclusive neighbor, suspicion falls on Thaddeus. These lights aren’t bringing glad tidings, and if Thad and Sara can’t find their source, the feu follet might herald a holiday tragedy for the whole town.

This holiday novella can be enjoyed alone or as book 1.5 of the Hours of the Night Series. Bonfire takes place the December after the events in Vespers.

(review request submitted by the author for an honest critique)

Thaddeus Dupont isn’t your ordinary vampire. He’s a hitman for the Catholic church, eliminating the world of the demons he’s assigned. He’s also a vamp in love with a man, donates money to a women’s shelter, and celebrates Christmas.

Yeah, Christmas and vampires shouldn’t go together. Picking out a tree, decorating it, and gift exchanging isn’t common practice for blood suckers. Stepping out of the norm is was separates Liv and Irene from the other vampire/supernatural writers. For me, I never know what new human quality they’ll have Thaddeus possess. It’s the tiny things that turn an ordinary book to extraordinary.

Now despite the praise I showed for them, I had to knock off some points for a couple reasons.

1.) Thaddeus is several decades old but he wasn’t familiar with the term commando. Seemed quite unlikely.

2.) When Sara went missing in the swamp, Dupont couldn’t locate him. He was on the lookout for his light. I thought due to him consuming  Sara’s blood (quite regularly, too) he would be able to find him anywhere, anytime. Yet, Thaddeus only located him when he heard Sara singing Christmas carols. That section went completely against everything I have learned.

Other than those two things, I rather enjoyed the unorthodox Christmas tale and I think so shall you.

I write romance: m/f, m/m, and v/h, where the h is for human and the v is for vampire … or sometimes demon … I lean more towards funny than angst. Review of “High Contrast (Evolution Ink)” – Tess Bowery

The deepest scars aren’t the ones that show.

Jacob Shain is your average member of Generation Screwed. He has a boring internship, no cash flow, and a tiny NYC apartment he has to share with Ethan, his much-cooler, tattoo-artist twin brother. Not to mention his love life is DOA. At least, until his brother’s shop hires on a new piercer, and Jacob’s humdrum life takes a turn for the weird.

Cody Turner is gorgeous, funny and kind—everything Jacob wants in a boyfriend. Except for the way he refuses to talk about his past, or where he lives, or anything about his personal life.

When Ethan is arrested while on a mission of mercy, the reason Cody is so tight lipped comes to light. And while Jacob and Cody fight to understand the depth of their feelings for one another, the police dogs catch their scent. So does the local mob.

Now Jacob has to make the hardest choice of his life: stay safe like a good boy, or dive headfirst into a world he barely understands…and hope Cody is there to break his fall.

Warning: Contains a good boy who wants to be bad, a bad boy who longs to be good, bodies that are canvases for living art and high-speed chases with police dogs.

(review request submitted by the author for an honest critique)

Are you a fan of gay romantic comedies? If you answered yes, then you MUST buy High Contrast. This book was jam-packed full of humor — some instances happening at the oddest of times.
Case in point: Cody deciding to give Jacob a grammar lesson during foreplay. When a man is asking to “lick” anything, don’t point out his grammar error. Can I? May I? Seriously, I laughed at the hilarity of the teaching moment.
Example 2: I’ve heard of getting cock-blocked, but to have an actual “cock”roach ruin what was turning into a “moment” had me grinning. Oh, I should mention these two fellas actually achieved said “almost moment” while dumpster diving. Gross but true.
Now you might be wondering why these two fellas were in the disgusting wasteland. Well, it all centers around marijuana (for sick patients), cops, Russian mob, and the past meeting your present.
What, you thought this was going to be a book with nothing but two guys getting their horizontal groove on? Nope, the steamy shagfest didn’t start until chapter 7. Let me tell you, folks, when these two finally succumbed to their desires……. Holy smokes!!!
Trust me, you won’t want to miss a single minute of the lovin.
You also won’t want to skip over the no holds barred action when worlds collide. It’s almost as good when Drew Sullivan (workplace bully) gets put in his place.
Man, I could go on and on about this story but I’ll stop. Well, I must say one more thing…….
I think marijuana should be readily available to the sick!
Legalize it in all states!!

Tess Bowery lives near the ocean, which sounds lovely, except when it snows. An historian by training and a theater person by passion, she’s parleyed her Masters degree in English history into something that would give her former professors something of a surprise.

Her love for the Regency era began as they always do, with Jane Austen, and took a sharp left turn into LBGT biographies and microhistory. Now she indulges in both of her passions, telling the stories of her community in the time periods that fire the human imagination. Her first foray into contemporary M/M fiction, High Contrast, releases in 2016.

Along with writing, Tess splits her time between teaching, backstage work, LBGT activism and her family. She spends far too much money on comic books, loves superheroes and ghost stories, and still can’t figure out how to use Twitter properly.

Author Showcase/Interview and Review of “Rubble and the Wreckage” – Rodd Clark

Gabriel Church knows you can’t take a life without first understanding just how feeble life is, how tentative and weak it stands alone. If you desire murder, you hold a life in your hand. Whether you release it to grant life or grip tighter to end it, it is at your command and discretion. Gabriel is a serial killer with a story he wants told. Christian Maxwell studied abnormal psychology in college but chose instead to focus on a career in writing. His background comes in handy when he thinks of writing about a serial killer. He can’t think of anyone more qualified to write the story of Gabriel Lee Church, and do so in the murderer’s own words. It’s been done before, but never with a killer who has yet to be captured or convicted. There was never anything more than a gentleman’s understanding between the two men that Christian would record Gabriel’s life story. The killer did not ask for his complicity in any crimes, nor did he ever ask for his silence. Christian’s interest in the man, though, is fast becoming something more than academic. When the writer and his subject become unexpected friends and then lovers, the question remains: What is Gabriel’s endgame . . . and why does he want his story told?

—–> REVIEW <—–

I was contacted by Rodd and asked to consider reviewing his M/M Romantic Thriller. So I read the synopsis of the book and immediately hopped over to Amazon to purchase myself a copy. Yes, even though he requested me to read/review the book and would supply me with a copy for an unbiased review, I decided this book was worth having in paperback. FYI: Paper books are my drug of choice.

Besides the book summary, which drew me like a moth to a flame, I found the cover eye catching in a “gross but I can’t stop staring” sort of way. Comparison – People who can’t help but drive slowly by a wreck and gawk at emergency personnel working on the carnage, attempting to glimpse what is happening; mouth agape.

Yup, that was me in a nutshell.

As a fan of Criminal Minds, I like to figure out what makes people tick. Why they do the things they do. Rodd gave brilliant insight into the mind of a serial killer and the person (man in this case) who fell in love with one.

But along the journey, I found myself growing bored with the slow pace of the tale which I can only describe as a dry, written documentary.

I must reiterate though, Rodd demonstrated remarkably well the lure a killer has over its prey.

As for the ending….. not what I expected but not everything can be like you see on tv. HEA don’t always exist.

Heart Rating System – 1 (lowest) and 5 (highest)

Score: ❤❤❤

1. Welcome, Rodd Clark.  For
those who might not be familiar with you, would you be a dear and tell the
readers a little about yourself?
How did you get your start in the writing business?
(RC) I
started writing when I was a young boy.
I remember writing my first book by 16, titled ‘Non-existence Plus’ it
was riddled with errors and never saw the published light.  But it was a labor of love
none-the-less.  I became published quite
recently, feeling that need to mark one more item off my bucket list.  It was a M/M mystery Titled “Short Ride to Hell” and since I really
connected with my main character the next two books of his story quickly
followed suit.  I found a few publishers
interested in the series but being committed and with contracts already signed
I decided to write another book out of my usual genre and found myself enjoying
the character of Gabriel Church.  So I
submitted the new book to another publisher and when the book began to take off
I decided to do a series dedicated to him and his unique story.  I have issues with letting go of my
characters sometimes.  Not that it
bothers me, as long as readers feel the same way.
      2.  All writers fear the dreaded “block”. Please
tell us how you         handle it.
(RC) Interesting
question, I tell myself that writer’s block is just that point when your
characters are simply fighting to jump beyond the page and breath.  But it is difficult maintaining a schedule of
writing every day when you must also commit to the promotional aspects of
publishing and marketing.  If I encounter
a block I know this is life just telling me that I need to work that area during
the break.
3. Contrary to what some people
envision about a romance writer’s life, it’s not all glitz and glam. Well not
for the majority of us. With that bubble sadly busted, when you’re not writing,
how to do you spend your time?
(RC) To be
honest there is a serious absence of glitz and glam in my life.  I spend a lot of my time with animals.  And I have a menagerie of pets to occupy any
free time, which is a rarity.  My dogs
and cats are a source of both joy as well as troublesome pains in the ass.  But as a child I saw myself being a writer
and being surrounded by animals, so at least this much came true.  But even as I write these words, I have cats
and dogs that are looking at me with sour scowls which tell me it’s nearly
feeding time once again.
 4. I know many writers, such as myself, keep their pastime/career a secret. Do those close to you know you
write? If so, what are their thoughts?

(RC) I rarely
admit to being a writer.  Although I have
friends who know how I spend my days, I imagine few could actually name a title
for one of my books.  This shows how much
they are interested in me and not what I do in my secret world in front of a
computer screen.  And I guess I kinda
enjoy that. I am proud to acknowledge my successes, but for a writer who hangs
with mostly non-readers, I can always be assured they know I am nothing
special, just one of the guys hanging in the gang.  But between you and me, it is fun when I run
across another writer and we find ourselves slipping from the crowd to talk
about things like writer’s block and marketing ideas, or conversing on where
our next adventures might take us and what people we might develop as our
5. Will you share with us your all
time favorite authors? If you’re like me, it’s a long list so give us your top
(RC) Naturally I have favorites and enjoy the greats like John le
Carre’, Stephen King, Ken Follett, J. R. R. Tolkien and countless others.  But recently I think I enjoy discovering new
faces.  The ones I know to be cresting
the horizon of the literary illuminati very soon.  For me it’s like unearthing some half-buried trinket
left discarded in the sand then pulling it out only to find out how it shines
and offers great value for many to appreciate. The recent authors whom I’ve
found are in the ranks of writers like Allen Renfro, Lee Thomas, Erin O’Quinn,
Marshall Thornton, Dorien Grey and William Kowalski.  Though all are from different genres, they
all bring something special to the table and I’m utterly amazed at the talented
people working in the field these days.
I am forever grateful to join their league and I try very hard to
emulate them in any way possible.
6. If you could choose one book to
go to the big screen, yours or otherwise, which book would you choose and whom
would you love see casted in the parts?
(RC) I
would love to see “Rubble and the
” hit the silver screen, and I could easily imagine the New Zealand
actor Antony Starr playing the lead role of Gabriel Church.  He is best known for his Cinemax series Banshee, as I hope your audience may be
familiar with.  I can say with a shy,
coquettish grin that I think he is the epitome of the character of Church.  He is both dashing and rough (and in all the
right areas).  He represents the raw
masculinity in that character I envisioned, and I have to confess to infusing
his beautiful image inside my skull whenever I am writing about Gabriel in a
book or an interview such as this one.  I
think he could easily portray the duality and show both the sensually flawed
nature as well as the morally twisted leanings of a serial killer in love.  It is these traits which made him such an
inspiration to this humble writer.
7. Would you care to tell us what
you’re working on now? That is if it’s not top-secret information. If so, just
whisper it in my ear. I swear it’ll go no further.
(RC) I am
working the edits for book two in the Gabriel Church Tales at the moment.  Readers have expressed an interest in seeing
more on the two main characters and the relationship Church has with his pseudo
lover, Christian Maxwell.  I was pleased
to continue the story because as I have stated, letting go is sometimes a
challenge for me.  The book is titled “Behold a Pale Rider” and takes a deeper
study into the men picking up shortly after the conclusion of Rubble and the
Wreckage.  I am also attempting to work
the third book in the series but trying to force myself into closing the
chapter on these characters.  Though this
prospect saddens me more than it rightly should.
8. Where can we find your stories
and is there a particular reading order?
(RC) I
have recently pulled my Brantley Colton Mysteries series from their original
publishers and should be moving them to a new house for a re-release very soon.  All books should be available at most online
vendors, Amazon, Barnes and Noble, KOBO, Google Play I Books, Oyster….  Hopefully they will be in brick and mortar
stores one day real soon.  If readers are
interested in M/M mysteries with a dark edge then I might begin with “Short Ride to Hell”, where we first are
introduced to Brantley Colton and his unusual circumstance.  He moves into book two in “A Cache of Killers” and ends in “No Place for the Wicked”.  I should be releasing them with my current
publisher soon.  I tried to write each
book as a stand-alone novel, but reading them in that sequence works best.  For the Gabriel Church Tales, book one
published by Driven Press and begins in “Rubble
and the Wreckage
” and travels into “Behold
a Pale Rider
”, as I stated with the same publishers Driven Press.  Hopefully by next year readers will see the
conclusion of Church’s tales in what is tentatively titled “Dominion- at the brink of sadness”.  Yes, that title has some ominous overtones,
and I hope offers some insight to the resolutions. But one can never be too
certain.  Because you can’t judge a book
by its cover or its title alone, am I right?
9. Would you please share how your
present and future fans can contact you?
(RC) Well
I suppose since we live in a world of social media I have to include some of
the sites where you can find me. I am always eager to speak to fans and other
writers, so reach out and say hello, I will always respond and thank you for
your visit.
10. Before we conclude this
enlightening interview, do you have anything else you’d like to share? The
stage is all yours.
(RC) I
appreciate the soapbox time, truly I do.
And since asked I’d like to remind readers how much their individual
reviews mean to authors professionally.
If the book stirred some emotional
twinge you hadn’t expected or made you reconsider a previously held viewpoint, then
it’s important that you stop and offer a note in the review sections, as on
GoodReads or Amazon or Kobo.  Even the
briefest of notes, good or bad, allows the author to know they made an impact.  And I value the less than stellar reviews as
much as great ones, fortunately I have fewer than I expected.  They allow me to see what fans want more of,
albeit more erotically charged situations or better characters they can relate
too. My writing has been considered dark and at times disturbing, but I myself
enjoy seeing what the reader has gathered from the work and I’ve made some good
friends along the way during the process as readers reached out to privately on
social media and email comments.  I would
like to build a fan base, as all authors do, and it starts with someone making
a connection and showing they first read the book.  So enjoy then stop by and offer your comments
and suggestions.  They mean a great deal
to the writer, I kid you not.

Ladies and Gents, I hope you enjoyed my interview with Rodd Clark. If
you have any questions or comments for Rodd, by
all means, leave him a message below. Thank you in advance for your visit!

Having run from vicious rumors her ex spread about their deviant sex life back home, when Mandy moves into her new apartment she is surprised to so quickly and easily strike up a conversation with the man next door who offers to help her carry in a few boxes.

She is even more surprised, though, when they have her over for dinner, to learn Mike and his roommate, Kyle, have been experimenting with their own sexuality, with each other, and want her to join in on the fun and games.

When given the opportunity to play the dominant in their sexual games, should she take the golden opportunity or just walk away?

I’m sure many readers are going to be jealous of not only Mandy, but also Mike and Kyle. She met two sexy men who allowed her to be her true self in the bedroom. Meanwhile they met a woman whom captivated them in and out of the bedroom.
I will say the jump from “Hello” to “We want you.” was quick, but hey, some people don’t beat around the bush and go for what or whom they want.
Like Kyle, I’m looking forward to what Mandy has planned for an encore.

Interview with Tracy James Jones

Welcome, Tracy James Jones!!

For those who might not be familiar with you, would you be a dear and tell the readers a little about yourself? How did you get your start in the writing business?

My name is Tracy James Jones and I am a blogger, reader, reviewer, writer, former actor and artist, with much love for films, music, books, and friendly people. :o) I write true-to-life like stories with real characters set in realistic human situations.

Born and raised in Waxahachie & Dallas, Texas, I have had a lifetime love affair with the entertainment industry. Starting with singing in my church choir, I later ventured into stage productions with my local community theater and eventually feature films.

I started writing in high school, with the help of an amazing Journalism teacher, which I continued as my major in college, with a minor in mass communications. Switching from journalism to creative writing came into play after I was offered the opportunity to write the life story of a local boxer, which later became a documentary film. Writing his story opened the door for me to begin writing my own novels and short stories

All writers fear the dreaded “block”. Please tell us how you handle it.

I don’t really do anything specific if a problem occurs when I am writing. Usually, I just leave the work for a minute to allow my thoughts to regroup around the scene or situation and then jump right back into it. My stories are usually one-step ahead of me all the time.

Contrary to what some people envision about a romance writer’s life, it’s not all glitz and glam. Well not for the majority of us. With that bubble sadly busted, when you’re not writing, how to do you spend your time?

My personal time is often spent with family and friends. Though I have a number of friends and fans online that I connect with on a regular basis, I like getting away from the computer and just hang with my local friends.

I know many writers, such as Dirk and myself, keep their pastime/career a secret. Do those close to you know you write? If so, what are their thoughts?

Yes, all the people in my life know that I am a writer and they are very supportive of me and my work. Family and friends were my earliest fans and many of them continue to read and follow everything I write and do.

Will you share with us your all time favorite authors? If you’re like me, it’s a long list so give us your top ten.

Gosh. I have a lot of authors I follow, indie & traditional. In this part year I have read some amazing books by indie authors who are right up there with the best. Traditionally, I read Charlaine Harris, Anne Rice, Christopher Rice, Dean Koontz, etc… My favorite indie authors are Charity Parkerson, Bruce Blake, M.J. Webb & Edenmary Black. These are some authors that are really going to blow up in the publishing world real soon because they are excellent in what they do.

If you could choose one book to go to the big screen, which book would you choose and whom would you love see casted in the parts?

For someone I have read, I would say M.J. Webb’s YA Fantasy Adventure Series “Jake West” is an absolute winner for the big screen. Not sure on who could play the parts, but it would be a great follow up to the Harry Potter & Hunger Games films.

For my own books, I would say “The Inhabitants of Magnolia Park,” one that has also been written into a screenplay. I have a long list of actors for that one which includes Aisha Tyler, Mila Kunis, Theo James, just to name a few.

Would you care to tell us what you’re working on now? That is if it’s not top-secret information. If so, just whisper it in my ear. I swear it’ll go no further.

Though I have my hands full with my new book/screenplay project, I also have a series in the works. “Secrets & Lies” is a part of that series. Book 2 in the series is written and I have yet to start the 3rd and final book. I hope to get into it soon.

Where can we find your stories and is there a particular reading order?

All of my books & short stories are listed on amazon.com, smashwords, and my facebook fan page.

Would you please share how your present and future fans can contact you?

I have a few places I can be reached and I welcome any and all responses.

Before we wrap up this enlightening interview, do you have anything else you’d like to share? The stage is all yours.

To date, my literary portfolio is 24 pages long, featuring talent resume, newspaper articles, book tours, author events, book promotions, and reviews. My writing includes 2 screenplay adaptations of my original fiction novels, “Searching For Eden” & “The Inhabitants of Magnolia Park.” My novel, “Secrets & Lies,” is also being formatted for film. Altogether, I have four novels and two short stories available on Amazon. I am officially the first Black American Author from my hometown.
Thank you so much for allowing me this time to share my story with you. Big hugs. :o)

There you have it, ladies and gents. I want to again thank Tracy James Jones for stopping by and I look forward to the next time we can sit down and dish.
