Author Showcase – Mychael Black (Coriolis: Distress Signal)

The Coriolis series is my first solo foray into the world of science fiction. I came up with the idea thanks to my addiction to Bioware’s sci-fi game trilogy, Mass Effect. (ME 3 is my favorite, for those who play.) In fact, the titular ship, the Coriolis, was loosely inspired by the Normandy, the ship in Mass Effect.

The first book in the series is ‘Distress Signal’ and it introduces the key crew members of the Coriolis, namely the captain, Carter Therres. Carter and his crew have been tasked to rescue a reclusive scientist from a research vessel that’s come under attack. When they find the man, Carter realizes there’s a lot more at stake than a single man’s life. The entire human military has been overthrown, and now Carter and the scientist–Dr. Ash Mracek–have to rush to save another man’s life.

I loved writing this book. I’m usually deep into paranormal or fantasy worlds, so venturing into space and the future was an exciting journey for me. Book 2–‘Kill Fee’–is due out in April. That one picks up right where ‘Distress Signal’ left off, and this time, the men are anything but easy to deal with. One is Joren, the man Carter and Ash rescued in book 1, and the other is Morgan Reid, someone Joren never thought he’d ever see again. Morgan and Joren are like oil and water. Getting them to play nice in the beginning was an exercise in patience.

I’m now working on book 3, ‘Silent Running,’ which is due out in June. This one is a departure from my usual gay romance in a sense. It’s a menage, m/m/f, and involves Eric Kane, second-in-command to Captain Therres; Jordan Sawyer, the curvy female pilot of the Coriolis; and Major Kyle Cortez, a man who gave up everything and turned on his own government to save a group of children. It’s not my first m/m/f story (I have one other in an anthology), but it’s relatively new territory for me.

Anyway, that’s the inspiration behind one of my personal favorite series I’m currently working on these days. I hope y’all enjoy the books as much as I enjoy writing them!

Best Book of 2012 Nominee – Love Romances Cafe

In 2207, humanity is the dominant force in the galaxy. The Syndicate governs the humans, and its leader, Joren — a former Marine sharpshooter — oversees it all. When enemies attack a scientific research vessel, the SRV Maelstrom, Joren sends friend and fellow Marine Carter Therres to rescue an enigmatic and somewhat antisocial professor. The situation quickly spirals out of control, however, and soon the three men find out just how fast the mighty can fall.

Captain Carter Therres doesn’t know what to expect aboard the Maelstrom, but it sure as hell isn’t the gorgeous man waiting in the maintenance ductwork. Ash Mracek is unlike other men Carter has known, and the scientist’s past involves something much more sinister than the Academy bombing for which he was framed. Now it’s a race to save Ash — and possibly Joren — before their enemies can take them out of the picture for good.

The Hilasah Sector. What the hell was so special about one scientist that the Syndicate would spend precious resources keeping him safe in no-man’s-land? And why in God’s name did the Revenants attack a scientific research vessel at all?

Carter didn’t like the sound of this. He slipped into the communication room and waited until Joren came into view on the holo. “Talk to me.”

Joren grimaced. “I knew you wouldn’t let this go without more.”

“I’m going to get him, but I want to know why the hell Revenants want this man dead so bad.”

“Dr. Mracek has been researching the key to how Revenants survive in dark space, and how we can use that against them. He’s found something, but then the attack happened. The whole station’s gone silent.”

Carter sighed. “No wonder they want to kill him. What’s this about blowing up the Academy years ago?”

“Dr. Mracek was a professor there, but some of his colleagues felt he had too much sway. Someone set off explosions that leveled an entire research wing and blamed it on Mracek. The professor was in another area and the original saboteur was caught, but others sought to make the professor pay for one of their own going down. We had to get him out. Carter, Mracek hasn’t been around humans since then. His only contact has been with me via holo. I don’t know what kind of reception you’re going to get, but don’t let him die.”

“I won’t.”

“Captain, we’re nearing the Hilasah Sector,” Jordan announced over the speaker.

“On my way.” Carter turned back to Joren. “We’ll get him.”

“Good.”

Carter switched off the holo and went back to the bridge. He stood near Jordan, watching out the window while his pilot took them into the unnervingly quiet sector.

“Any sign of Revenants?”

“We’ve got one scout and three raider ships, all docked.”

“Fuck. Okay, get us close enough for the transport.”

Carter signaled to several of his soldiers who had already suited up in their armor and gathered outside the elevator. He led them down to the shuttle bay where they all grabbed their weapons. Then they loaded onto the transport. Carter took the pilot’s seat, and within a few minutes they had left the Coriolis and were nearing the Maelstrom.

“Jesus,” one of the soldiers, First Lieutenant Kane, muttered. “They really tore this place apart for this guy.”

“Yeah.”

Carter managed to maneuver the transport into a docking bay, slipping through the airlock barrier without detection. He had the feeling the Revenants weren’t too worried about backup. Hell, from the looks of things as he and his men stepped out of the transport, Carter figured the Revenants didn’t plan on leaving any soul alive.

“Three that way,” he ordered, pointing to one passage. “The other two, with me. We need to find the professor and get the hell out of here.”

The hall leading out of the docking bay emptied into a room that looked like a scene from a horror movie. Blood coated nearly every surface, and bodies lay strewn all over the room. Carter crouched in front of one — a Tessi, by the looks of her.

“Fuck, what did this doc do to piss off the Revenants?”

“Long story,” Carter said. He stood and surveyed the room. “Escape pods, though none have been fired. Fan out. We need to find –”

A soft thump high on the wall drew Carter’s attention to a grated cover. “Maintenance,” he muttered. He motioned for his men to watch the doorway. Then he approached the maintenance shaft.

“I’m Captain Therres, Local Marines.” When he didn’t get an answer, Carter continued. “We’re here on behalf of the Syndicate.”

Another bump sounded a little louder, and a face appeared behind the grate. Carter couldn’t make out the features, though it was definitely a man. A moment later, the grate wiggled and swung open. A slim man with a long, light brown braid and wire-rimmed glasses dropped to the floor with surprising grace.

“We’re looking for Dr. Mracek,” Carter said. “Look, I know you’re scared –”

“Scared?” The man whirled around, and Carter barely managed to keep his jaw from hitting the floor. Scientists weren’t supposed to be sexy. Were they? “Scared? My entire staff is dead! Revenants are tearing apart my station! Buddy, scared doesn’t begin to touch it!”

“Hey!” Carter grabbed the man’s shoulders, realizing — belatedly — that the man was armed. An arc pistol pressed to Carter’s stomach. He glanced down, then back up into wild hazel eyes behind those glasses. “I’m not the enemy.”

“I’ve had more than my share of humans as enemies.”

Recognition clicked in Carter’s brain. “Dr. Mracek?”

The man — the professor — nodded, the motion jerky.

“We’re here to rescue you. Joren sent us.”

Myc has been writing professionally since 2005, solo and with Shayne Carmichael. Genres include pretty much anything (no steampunk yet), though Myc is well known for paranormal stories. When not writing, Myc is usually playing PC games, reading, editing, watching movies and shows on Netflix and Amazon, or spending way too much time on Facebook. Since the question has come up in the past, pronouns are not an issue. Myc is bio-female, mentally male, 100% genderfluid. So any pronoun works!

Author Showcase – Wendi Zwaduk (Until the Night)

Reader Advisory:
This book contains scenes of mm sex, anal play, ménages of the mmf, mfm, and mmfm persuasions, as well as lots of biting and spanking. They’re having one hell of a party.

Having a mate can be a pain. Having three…now that’s unheard of…

Gypsy volunteered to become a vampire, but she had no idea just what she’d agreed to do. As a human, she’d had her pick of willing males to warm her bed. As a creature of the night, she’s striking out.

Until she meets Kendall. He knows what she is and doesn’t care. He’s loved her since he met her, but he had no idea just how complicated her life truly was. Her protectors refuse to leave her side. But what if he wants them on his side, too?

Allan and Todd are mates, plain and simple. Gypsy is in their charge. Period. Until they start to see her not as a problem, but a sexy solution complete with an adorable human thrown in for fun.

Can they come together as a foursome or will they destroy everything they’ve built in the name of passion?

“I’m lost and I want to go back home.”

Gypsy sang the song she’d made up to herself and shimmied in her cage. The patrons around her gyrated and waved their hands in the air. Smoke billowed from the machines by the DJ table and floated out over the crowd. Lights flickered over the sea of bodies, but the scene around her didn’t capture her attention.

Someone touched her foot. When Gypsy glanced down to the bottom of the cage, her relief, Alyssa, one of the other dancers, offered a lopsided grin. “You can go now.”

When the song ended, Gypsy opened the catch on the cage and stepped into the main room. Most nights, the allure of the Chatty Catty Club suited her. Not tonight. She stared at the bar. Allan wasn’t standing in his regular spot at the far end by the kitchen doors. Another bartender was working the margarita machine. Todd wasn’t at his post by the main entrance, either. Two muscle-bound men hulked on either side of the double doors. Where the hell were her best friends? Probably off with some sexy club girl wanting a good time. The Goddess knew Allan and Todd liked to have a good time.

Not with her.

Allan and Todd had their pick of the women who frequented the club. Both of them spent lots of time with Gypsy, but neither wanted anything other than friendship with her. She wanted more—Todd behind her, Allan in front while they pleasured her. Then in reverse. Except she’d never bothered to tell them how she felt.

Sighing, Gypsy hiked the bodice of her top up to cover another inch of her cleavage. Her inner wrist brushed her nipple through the thin fabric. She shivered. What if the objects of her desire touched her? Her pussy quivered and her fangs elongated in her mouth. She needed blood and sex. Preferably from someone who understood her new vampire nature—a man, or two, to love her. Going without blood for nearly a week hurt. Her body constantly ached, she wobbled in her cage and her focus flailed…but, damn it, she refused to hunt.

If someone had told her when she’d agreed to let Jamison change her that her life would never be the same, she would’ve dug in her feet and not have become a vampire. She didn’t mind sleeping during the day and partying all night, but the cuisine choices sucked. Either kill to eat or beg a human to allow you to bite them—and if that didn’t work then she got to starve.

What if I want a steak? Or a daiquiri?

Thinking about food wouldn’t help matters, anyway. She shoved the thoughts aside and strode to the bar. A woman from the fringe of the crowd stopped her. Her dark eyes glittered in the flashing blue and green light. “Care to dance, sweet thing? Aren’t you…mmm…sexy?”

Her smile, wide and bright, didn’t do anything for her. Sure, she embodied sex with sumptuous curves and beautifully shaped breasts, but Gypsy didn’t do girls. Not usually. Moreover, her admirer wasn’t Allan. Or Todd for that matter. The guys understood her. Hell, they intrigued her. They made her body quiver in all the right places with just a look. The chick smiling at her? Nada. If anything, she was creeped out.

“Thanks, but no thanks.” She brushed by the woman and stepped forward.

“You’re here to entertain. Entertain me.” She dug her fingernails in Gypsy’s arm. “I want to see something sexy. Do it.”

Her growl chilled Gypsy’s blood. She caught the distinct whiff of fruit. Oranges? Gypsy ground her teeth together. O’Toole had smelt of strawberries, but she’d seen her sister destroy him.

“Look, asshat, this isn’t a tittie club. It’s a dance club. Skin, yes—sex, no.” Gypsy shrugged out of the woman’s grasp. “I’m not interested and I will use my boot. Got it?”

The woman’s eyes flashed and she tipped her head once in a jerking motion. “Whatever, bitch. You will.”

Author Showcase – Silvia Violet

Finding Release
by Silvia Violet (Wild R Farm Book 1)

http://www.amazon.com/Finding-Release-Wild-Farm-ebook/dp/B00ALHB7DQ/

Blurb:

Coleman Wilder is a half-breed werewolf.
Some days the tension between his human side and his werewolf instincts
threaten to tear him apart. But the challenge of running a horse farm as a gay
man in a conservative Tennessee town keeps him focused until he meets horse
shifter, Jonah Marks.

Jonah’s family
insists that shifting is sinful, but Jonah longs to let his stallion run free.
Desperate to escape his family’s judgment, he asks Cole, his secret crush, for
a job. Cole turns him down, scared his desire for Jonah will make him lose
control. When Jonah’s brother threatens his life, Cole struggles to save him
and give them both a second chance at the life they’ve always wanted

Excerpt:

“That should be the last of it.” Jonah tossed the final sack
of feed on the back of Cole’s truck parked outside his family’s feed store. “You
need anything else?”
Jonah looked at Cole with his big brown eyes as if he needed something.
Cole caught his scent, and his wolf stirred to life. He smelled like horse and
sweat with an underlying citrusy scent, young and clean. Prey. Cole’s cock
wanted to fulfill all Jonah’s needs, but Cole wasn’t stupid enough to even
flirt with an eighteen-year-old high school senior whose stepfather had been
the most vocally anti-gay preacher in town. The only reason the Marks family
deigned to sell him grain was because in these hard times they needed his
money.
Cole tried to ignore the fantasies playing out in his mind. “Nope.
We’re good.”
Jonah looked down at his dusty boots. “You got a minute?”
Cole took a deep breath. He glanced around. They couldn’t talk here,
not openly. Jonah needed a friend, and Cole had once been young and different
and scared. “Sure. You wanna get a cup of coffee?” He tilted his head
toward the diner down the street.
“Yeah.” Jonah looked at his watch. “I’m due for a break.”
“All right. Mind if I leave the truck here?” Cole asked.
“Nah, we’re not expecting another big delivery until this
afternoon.”
They walked to the diner in awkward silence.
Cole couldn’t let himself think about how gorgeous Jonah looked,
staring at him with those puppy dog eyes. Jonah was off limits for too many
reasons to count.
They got a booth by the front windows, and Cole ordered coffee for
them. Once the waitress brought the steaming mugs, Cole let himself look at
Jonah. His red-brown hair was rumpled from finger combing. A combination of
sunburn and embarrassment tinted his cheeks. His denim jacket hugged his broad
shoulders and… No! Cole wasn’t going to let his perusal go any lower, not even
in his imagination. His wolf growled deep inside, his werewolf nature
recognizing the equine inside Jonah, the shifter side his family forced him to
deny.
He concentrated on Jonah’s strong, pale hands as they wrapped around
the coffee cup, holding it tight for warmth and stability. Cole wanted to reach
out and take Jonah’s hands in his own, but that would be bad for both of them.
Cole realized he’d made a mistake. He should have told Jonah he was in
a hurry to get back to the farm, or something that would’ve kept him from
sitting here alone with a very young horse shifter who was having an
indescribable effect on him.
“Mr Wilder?”
Well, being addressed as ‘Mister’ certainly burst the lurid fantasy in
his mind. He was only thirty, but now he felt ancient. “You know you can
call me Cole.”
Jonah’s cheeks got even redder. “I know… it’s just… I was
wondering if you’d consider hiring me. I know I don’t have experience working
in a barn, but, I… well… I’m kind of a natural with horses.” He grinned as
he said this.
His cutely upturned mouth made him look even younger, and Cole cursed
his inappropriate thoughts. The boy needed his help, not his perving.
Jonah’s home life had to be hell. His father had left them when he was
little, and his mother and elder brother were both self-righteous
Bible-thumpers. From what he could tell, Jonah couldn’t do a damn thing right
in their eyes, but Jonah working at Wild R Farm would be a disaster. Cole could
smell Jonah’s desire for him. Sooner or later, he’d give into his own desire
and exploit that. Jonah deserved freedom and a man who had more self-control.
Cole’s wolf growled, the sound almost escaping Cole’s mouth. If he put
his hands on Jonah, he feared his wolfish instincts would take over. Jonah
smelled like prey, like something to be consumed, possessed. Cole shuddered.
No. He could never let those desires loose. “Jonah, I—”
“Please…” He dropped his voice to a whisper. “My family…
I can’t live with them anymore.”
“Your mother’s not going to let you work for me.”
“I’m eighteen. She can’t stop me.”
Cole tried a different tactic. “You need to finish school. Didn’t
I hear you’d won a scholarship?”
Jonah looked directly into Cole’s eyes as if willing him to understand.
“Yeah, but I can’t take it anymore.”
“You’ll graduate in four months. Then you can get out of here, go
to college.”
He shook his head. “I won’t last that long.”
He wouldn’t last long on Cole’s farm either, if Cole snapped and let
his werewolf side take control. “Why ask me?” Cole thought he knew,
but he wanted confirmation.
Jonah glanced around the restaurant. Only a few tables were occupied,
and no one sat nearby. In a voice so low even Cole’s sensitive ears could
barely hear, he said “Cole, I’m… different, like you. If my brother finds
out…”
If Nathan found out, he’d kick Jonah out, maybe beat him. Cole wished
Jonah didn’t stir him up so much. “I’m sorry. I’ve got all the hands I
need right now.”
The eager light went out of Jonah’s eyes. He sloshed coffee on the
table in his haste to get out of the booth. “OK, I understand. I’m sorry.”
Cole grabbed Jonah’s arm before he could run. Heat snapped between
them, nearly making Cole let go. “I’m sorry for what you’re going through.”
Jonah shook his head. “Not sorry enough.” He pulled free and
left.
Jonah’s condemnation hit Cole like a punch to the gut. Cole leaned back
and closed his eyes, willing the thick, bitter coffee to stay down.

Author Showcase – Tracy James Jones

cbrtrapuyaeqptz

My name is Tracy James Jones and I am a blogger, reader, reviewer, writer, former actor and artist, with much love for films, music, books, and friendly people. :o)

Born and raised in Waxahachie & Dallas, Texas, I have had a lifetime love affair with the entertainment industry. Starting with singing in my church choir, I later ventured into stage productions with my local community theater and eventually feature films.

I started writing in high school, with the help of an amazing Journalism teacher, which I continued as my major in college, with a minor in mass communications. Switching from journalism to creative writing came into play after I was offered the opportunity to write the life story of a local boxer, which later became a documentary film. Writing his story opened the door for me to begin writing my own novels and short stories.

To date, my literary portfolio is 24 pages long, featuring talent resume, newspaper articles, book tours, author events, book promotions, and reviews. My writing includes 2 screenplay adaptations of my original fiction novels, “Searching For Eden” & “The Inhabitants of Magnolia Park.” My novel, “Secrets & Lies,” is also being formatted for film.

In the future I plan to write more human interest novels & short stories. I also hope to translate more of my work for screen. At present time, all of my books are available on amazon. Free shorts and excerpts are available on my blog and/or wattpad.com.

“Sometimes a need for keeping secrets

Can be just as intriguing as a reason for telling lies…”

”Secrets & Lies” is an emotional journey into the private lives of four central characters that can be defined as a contemporary multicultural romantic family drama with a twist. Overall, this book is about a group of not-so-ordinary people, all from very different backgrounds, whose secrets and lies leaves a trail of deceptions waiting to upset the rituals of their daily existence.

* * *

Kennedy Jordan is a handsome young man with a secret past and a challenging future that keeps him in the balance between having what he wants versus what is expect of him.

Camilla Vargas is a beautiful ambitious young woman with dreams of success that she plans to obtain by any means possible, and vows to not let anything keep her from it.

Ulanda Jefferson is a hip outspoken fashionista with a fiery attitude. Armored with sharp-wit and an uncensored tongue, she is more than just a force to be reckoned with.

Bren Searcy is a grown-up lost in transition, (literally from male to female). There is almost nothing she wouldn’t bear to hang onto the happiness she has finally found.

* * *

In the end, for everyone involved, even the elements of true confessions gets lost in translation as the explicit details of who they are brings the group together in a surprising, yet necessarily finale that could change the course of their lives forever…

Author Showcase – Elaine Raco Chase

(A message from Elaine)
I write sassy, sexy, LOL contemporary romance novels. Often they start with “love at first sight”. I was never sure of “love at first sight” until my dad told me he fell for my mom as he watched her chase her dog down the street! I told him that was the silliest thing I ever heard, they hadn’t even said a word to each other. He winked and said “sometimes you just know”…they were married for 57 years. Hubby and I are headed for 43 years this October..he said it was “lust at first sight” – yeah! That works too!
So let’s say “attraction” at first sight and then what reviewers call the “slow burn” are the core of my contemporary romantic comedies. Some more erotic than others, but all with characters that are so believable they’ve received fan mail!
I started my contemporary romance writing career in 1979 – long before eBooks were even a thought anyplace but in a science fiction novel! I was able to get my rights back to all my books and have been happily expanding, enhancing and updating most of my novels.

I’m hard at work updating, expanding and enhancing the rest of my romances – all were #1 bestsellers in print editions. All will be audio books as well.

While I’m known for my romantic comedies – I also have a best-selling mystery/thriller series that I’ll be updating. Roman Cantrell – Nikki Holden made their debut in 1984 – Dangerous Places and then in 1985, Dark Corners. I’ll be turning them into eBooks in the coming months as well and audio books too!

My non-fiction book: Writer’s Digest Howdunit Series: A Writer’s Guide to Writing the Amateur Detective Novel is still available and, I recently learned, is in the FBI Forensic Library in Quantico!

A writer never stops! I’m also working on book number 18…what I hope will be a ‘blockbuster’ mystery called: A Rare Medium Well Done featuring Dani Rossi, a sexy Atlanta lawyer with a lot of secrets to keep from handsome security specialist Mac Stewart. She does not keep secrets from her assistant and BFF Tucker – as he has more than his share of issues and friends that need her help.

Hope you’ll check out my bestselling contemporary romance novels: SPECIAL DELIVERY, VIDEO VIXEN, DESIGNING WOMAN, CALCULATED RISK, DARE THE DEVIL, DOUBLE OCCUPANCY, LADY BE BAD, RULES OF THE GAME, CAUGHT IN A TRAP and BEST LAID PLANS – my updated woman’s fiction novel- probably the very first chick-lit read (1983) and ‘friends with benefits romantic comedy.

Whatever genre I write, my stories are funny, sarcastic, and loaded with fast-paced, bantering dialogue. My books feature confident, strong women – who have a wicked sense of humor and aren’t really looking for a man – until the perfect one appears.

Genre: contemporary romance – erotica
Love this 5 star review for a blurb: “In Double Occupancy, Chase does well by her characters, giving them room in their close-quartered villa to really express themselves and draw the reader into their love story. Their witty banter will have you laughing but their hot and steamy moments will have you begging for more. By isolating her hero and heroine like this, Chase has given the reader the chance to indulge in a R&R too, focusing on the budding relationship between Travis and Casey. Get lost in this story as though you’re resting up in the villa for yourself… I found it pretty hard to put this one down and climb back into the real world, myself! XXX for some smokin’ hot lovin’ and some pretty explicit word choices ahem, Travis.” Read why Travis & Casey have been on THE LIST – FB’s Top 50 Books to read after 50 Shades of Grey for 20 weeks
