Kal had been trying all morning to get some work done, but his mind kept wandering back to delectable little Ali, and eventually he just quit what he was doing and went to track down her and Conn to see what they had gotten up to. He certainly hadn’t been expecting to find what he had when he’d walked into the observatory, but the sight of the two of them half naked, kissing on the couch brought his cock to full attention in a matter of seconds.

“I see I’ve arrived just in the nick of time.” Kal smiled as he walked up to the couple and ran a finger gently along Alison’s flushed cheek. “Is there room for one more?”

He loved the way her blush got brighter as she bit her lip and nodded yes to him. Conn lifted his head from nibbling on her neck, and Kal slowly leaned in to take the other man’s mouth in a sultry, deep kiss. Alison’s breathing became even more rapid and her eyes went heavy with lust as she took in the scene before her.

Kal had his suspicions that Ali would enjoy seeing him with Conn and Tannen, and it seemed he was correct. The aroma of her desire was filling the room, causing their own pheromones to increase in return. Their sweet little Alison couldn’t have been a better match for them if she’d come straight from their wildest fantasies. It seemed that his plan to convince his two bond mates of that fact was coming to fruition without much interference from him at all. He stopped for a moment to watch as Conn continued to grind himself against the woman below him, drawing sweet whimpers from her lips.

“Get naked and get over here,” Conn said to him after he broke the kiss, and returned to torment Alison with kisses on her neck as Kal rounded the couch and began to undress.

Just as last night, Kal could feel her eyes roaming over his skin as he took off his clothes, and a thrill went through him at the thought that she admired what most of his people saw as a defect. The only other two beings in his life that had ever looked at him that way were Tannen and Conn, and once he’d found them, he’d vowed never to let them go.

Kal loved the sound of her gasp as he took his briefs off along with his pants this time, revealing his long, hard cock that was aching for both her and his Captain.

“Isn’t he beautiful?” Conn whispered in her ear, as they both watched Kal undress, with rapt desire. “It always takes my breath away to see the contrast of his skin against my own.”

Ali looked from one to the other, a slow smile forming on her beautiful lips, and Kal could only hope that she was imagining them entwined in each other’s arms.

“He is,” she finally agreed on a sigh, as Kal finished and moved towards them.

Conn finally released her arms, only to move his hands down her torso, and he began to slowly raise the shirt that had been covering her.

“May I?” Conn asked, looking deep into her eyes for permission to remove the barrier.

****

Alison was so enthralled by the directness of his gaze that she simply nodded in agreement, biting her lip again once the shirt was removed and she was naked to them.

“Ah, no biting, lovely. That’s our job now,” Kal said as his eyes dropped to her mouth and he knelt in front of them both. “I’ve been dreaming about these lips.”

By the time he leaned in and pressed his soft mouth against hers, she could no longer hold back. She grabbed the back of his head and pulled him in for a deep kiss. He seemed to be surprised at first, but then she felt his hands move down to caress her aching breasts and he returned her kiss with exactly the passion and heat she was craving.

“You two are so sexy together,” Conn said as he claimed one of her breasts with his mouth, sucking her nipple deep into his warmth.

She could feel his still-covered cock lightly rubbing back and forth against her pussy. To have the both of them touching her at the same time was scrambling her senses with sensation overload. The harder Kal kissed her, the more Alison felt as though she wanted to crawl right into him, and she couldn’t help but slide her hands into his wavy dark hair to pull him closer. She felt her nails dig into his skin, but all she could do was moan and suck at his tongue wanting everything he had to give.

Kal pulled away, and Ali was bereft at the sudden loss of contact. When she opened her eyes and looked up both men were staring at her with such a look of hunger it took her breath away.

“Why did you stop?” she asked desperately, panting hard.

“Gods, Ali, you could burn me alive,” Kal said in a low growl. “Why don’t we help our Captain out of his pants?”

Ali watched as Kal knelt on the couch behind Conn and began to nibble and lick on the other man’s neck, causing Conn to moan, his head falling back in pleasure. Kal took one of Alison’s hands in his own and slowly brought it down to caress his bond mate’s chest and stomach until finally they found the closure to his pants and released it. Conn groaned loudly when both Ali and Kal’s hands reached inside and found his long, hard cock and stroked it together.

“Are you two trying to kill me?” Conn growled as he opened his eyes and looked down at their combined fingers gliding over his hard flesh.

Alison looked down at Conn kneeling between her thighs, his dark skin such a lovely contrast with Kal’s silver arms around him and the pale cream of her own hand wrapped tightly around his thick shaft. Their skin was a slightly different texture than hers. It was almost like a soft velvet, and she couldn’t stop wanting to roll her entire naked body against them both.

The pleasure was so decadent, she almost felt high just from touching them, especially with their combined scents playing at her senses.

“You need to take the pants off, Conn,” she said, tightening her grip on his cock and stroking it slowly, gratified to see a small bead of moisture collect at the tip.

“As you wish, my lady,” Conn said, before leaning forward to kiss her and then climbing off the couch to remove the last of his clothes, leaving him just as naked as she and Kal.

Alison was distracted watching the thick muscles of Conn’s well-toned body as he stood back up, and then she felt Kal’s hands move along her thighs and open her legs further as Conn laughed out loud.

“You bastard!” Conn teased. “I knew you would steal my spot!”

Many women (and men) can relate to Ali’s plight in the beginning of “Precious Cargo”. She’s 35, single with no prospects. She eats dinner alone, watches tv alone, because she has no family — no one to love her.

Then, in a blink of an eye, her luck changes.

No, she didn’t meet “the one” on Match.com or eHarmony. Instead, she was whisked away on a spaceship where she was rescued by three hunky aliens.

Before you ask, cause I know you’re dying to know, yes she was probed but she wanted to be — practically begged for it.

I could say the Seria 9 strain she was injected with by her abductors was the sole reason why she became so touchy feely. I mean, yes, the side effect of the strain was the need for bodily contact. And, no real surprise skin to skin contact proved most effective. 😉

But really, I think being surrounded by three men who were sexually attracted to her and each other might have something to do with her sexual awakening. It would be hard for anyone not to be affected by them, under the influence of Seria 9 strain or not. Right?

Picture this, at 88 pages, Alison (and us readers) were treated to scenes where everyone got handsy with everyone.

No one was left unsatisfied and, if you pick up this book, you won’t be either.

“Exposed Ecstasy”: Unlike “Sinful Surrender” (book 1) and “Phantom Desire “(book 2), I didn’t completely fall in love with the heroes and heroine. Faerydae was an ass for the majority of the story. He did have moments where he showed his sweet and loving side such as when he gave Tessla the pup, their time in Elfhame, and the final chapters. However, for the most part, he played games with her heart, spoke with little patience, and became a person I dreaded entering a conversation/room.

Tessla didn’t come off as a strong woman who had the backbone to stand up against her father, Reto. Her begging Faerydae to allow her to be a part of his life in some way wasn’t flattering. Especially when he kept pushing her away. I know you can’t give up on love but I just didn’t understand her behavior, especially since she hardly knows him.

Out of the three of them, Shomar was the only likable character. He was sweet, charming, romantic and wore his heart on his sleeve. His begging forTessla not to leave him seemed too much since, again, he barely knew her. In fact, he wanted to marry her after knowing her 24 hours.

But, that’s how the men roll in this series. They go from 0 to 60 in less than 2 seconds. For me, I wish the men, in general,  would start slowing down.

As for Faerydae, I wanted him to stop doing the “We can’t.” — “I can’t.” — “I want you.” — “We are a mistake.” — bullshit game sooner. It got old fast, like his character.

“Intimate Betrayal”: Where I thought “Exposed Ecstasy” was lacking in character development and plot formation, “Intimate Betrayal” delivered a one-two punch of non-stop action and adventure.

In “Intimate Betrayal”, we shall meet a variety of different people: reluctant assassins, Old World Mole, Star Rider, badass women, and the spawn of Satan (not literally).

This cast and their interactions made time fly by for me. I was so engrossed in the pages I didn’t realize I had missed a meal and that’s a hard feat for a writer to accomplish because this chick loves her food. 🙂

Know what else I liked? Houston didn’t have her women lacking in curves or have them weak/dependent on men. Elaine and Makayla don’t need a man to protect them because they proved they can handle their own shit. This I loved!!!

What else I loved? The very last sentence of the book. Reading it, you just know shit is about to get real in book 5 (title and release date unknown).

With all the love I had for “Intimate Betrayal”, I deducted a heart because of a one major ugh moment. Jaden was hell-bent on not sharing Kindise. All the way up to chapter 15, he held firm to this notion — one man, one woman. After Kindise told him it’s all or nothing, he came on board with it. Then, they had a threesome. I’m not buying this total turnaround and I don’t believe neither man will succumb to the green-eyed monster in the future.

Beyond the Veil by Jessica Majzner (Book Review)

51awpunwfkl-_sy346_

A fabled wall, marking the territory of the werewolves and adorned with the severed skull of a once great alpha, stands between Natalya and her prey.

When she finds the body of Anesa, her beloved mentor, she is determined to hunt down the vampire responsible. Crossing the border into Claw Haven to follow him is sacrilege though, and the undead werewolves whose skeletal bodies wane and wax with the moon are more terrifying than the vampire she seeks. But there she meets Voren, a werewolf who is a living contradiction to everything she has been led to believe.

Her journey into the lives of the pack entwines her and Voren’s fates with that of a master vampire’s: Arkadith. Defeating him may lift Voren’s curse and bring peace to Valwood and Claw Haven, but Arkadith is determined to bring an end to this vampire huntress as well…

(review request submitted by the author for an honest critique)

Throughout the years, I have watched many movies/shows that focused on vampires and werewolves. I’ve also read my share of books centering on them. With all of them, they share one common denominator…..not all “creatures” want the curse bestowed upon them.

Within every faction, wolf or vamp, there was some who fight the pull of the beast within and those who embraced the darkness. Beyond the Veil was no exception to the rule. It had werewolves, vamps, and humans who loved the thrill of the kill and ones who fought for peace instead of death and carnage.

I will say this, the battles between the humans and wolves were brutal – bloody – and everything you’d expect in a scifi (paranormal fantasy) book. The true form of the wolf alone will stand out in your mind as the one of the best shifting scenes in any written form. They are not the beautiful beasts depicted in famous tv shows. They are not even Hallmark card worthy. In my opinion, Jessica’s twist to a well-known shifter was a welcomed change to the norm. She brought fresh life into something gone stale. Good job!

As you can tell, I absolutely enjoyed the story except for two smalls thing……Anesa’s quick end and the final moments of Part II (no spoilers).

Anesa: As I watched her fight the vamps in chapter 1 and meet her end, I wondered why Jessica didn’t extend her role a few more chapters. I’d been happy for a flashback or two regarding her training Natalya. Based off Anesa’s combat skills, it would’ve been nice for Natalya to recall times with the fortune teller as they were laying her to rest or at other times Natayla remembered the wise, old woman.

However, despite my need for more Anesa and the predicable plot twist in Part II, Beyond the Veil didn’t disappoint and I’m sure it won’t for you either.

We all deal with death and the loss of a friend or loved one in our own way. We cry, withdraw into ourselves, throw ourselves into work, lash out in anger, or latch on tight to those who are living in fear of losing someone else.

No matter the coping mechanism we choose, there’s a common denominator which is essential in helping us move on and that’s LOVE.

Before we reach the last page of this story, I must warn you, they’ll be some unorthrodox scenes. Okay, it might not be weird to you but it was for this chick. I’m not into ghost sex. Yeah, you read that right. Chandra was intimate with a ghost aka Ortello. In fact, the book started off with this unusual, out of the box, sexual relations.

Not my cup of tea but her love scenes with Nikias and Andonis (alone and together) were right up my kinky alley.

Nikias’ first sexual encounter was with Chandra and he caught on fast to the act of fuckery. Gotta love a man who can take direction. 😉 And Adonis, I have four words for you…

“drawer of sexual treasures”

If you are into kink and toys, then you’ll love what he pulled out for their pleasure.

Even though they are several chapters of bedroom action, Chandra does see some brief action on the field. The short time away leads to a few major bombshells. Yup, humungous cliffhanger but I won’t be speaking on that. If you want to know, then you must buy the book. A purchase I’m sure you WON’T REGRET making.

The Guardian: Mended Souls, Book 1 by Jacquie Biggar (Book Review)

HOT NEW adventure romance. Spice up your summer with The Guardian

Can two lost souls stop a madman with the help of a sarcastic angel?

Lucas Carmichael and Scott Anderson had it all, money, fame, and fortune. But one night’s stupid mistake takes everything they thought they cherished and dumps it upside down.
A car accident ends Lucas’ life and leaves Scott injured and bitter.
As the local ME, Tracy York, investigates the case, discrepancies begin to point to more than a simple drunk driving incident.
When threats are made to Tracy’s life can Scott and his guardian angel, Lucas, protect her, or will she become another casualty?

Excerpt:

Scott couldn’t believe he’d escaped from a hospital just a few hours before and now here he was, riding in the back of an ambulance. He was pretty sure it wasn’t SOP to transport a canine, even if it was extenuating circumstances. But the moment the paramedics had shown up, his companion had run roughshod over their objections. It was sort of sexy.

Tracy York.

He had a difficult time equating her as a medical examiner. She seemed too… young. Naïve. Cute.

That is until a person got close enough to read the deep green pools of her gaze. They spoke of suffering, those eyes. They made him ache inside. He wanted to hold her. Offer to help, even though his world was a screwed up mess.

Her thigh rubbed against his every time the ambulance changed lanes and was slowly driving him crazy. Every nerve strained closer, waiting for the next teasing friction of silk and jean meshing together and then apart.

The vehicle took a corner and she lost balance, threw out a hand to steady herself, and came dangerously close to finding out exactly what she was doing to him.

Scott grasped her forearm in his good hand and stopped her forward momentum. He froze, their lips a hairsbreadth apart. Her eyes grew large and he felt like the wolf at Red Riding Hood’s door. His heart skidded along his windpipe like it was an Olympic medal winning luge run. How had he thought her merely cute? She was gorgeous, with hair like the finest brandy and skin that rivalled any fairy tale heroine he’d ever read about. He leaned toward her, solely focused on tasting that lush, honey-sweet mouth.

And she frowned at him.

Just like that the noise came rushing back in, the creak of the van, the beep of machines, and the stifled snort of the paramedic who suddenly pretended to act busy. Tracy pulled her arm free. She ignored him to reach out and pet the mutt’s gnarled coat, and move a careful few inches down the bench.

Scott glared at the grinning paramedic and sat back, his head resting against the cool metal wall behind him. He couldn’t honestly remember the last time a woman turned him down. He was disappointed, but there was no denying the fact that the doc intrigued him. If she were anyone else he’d be tempted to pursue the matter. But she held his and Lucas’ reputation in her dainty little hands. He couldn’t afford to alienate her.

They say the Lord works in mysterious ways and HE sure did in The Guardian. He partnered up Mike and Lucas who’s paths crossed one unfortunate night. A night filled with pain, heartache and lost lives.

When Mike visited his family and relived his final moments before the impact, I admit I cried. I pictured myself as Jules, chanting “I love you” to my family because I needed them to know, had to let them know, because the inevitable was about to happen.  Even as I am typing this, I’m tearing up and I am not a huge crier. So before you read chapter 11, grab a tissue. Trust me, you’ll need it.

For the rest of the story, I didn’t shed one tear. I did raise an eyebrow at a few passages. I’ll share those with you now.

1.) When Scott took Tracy on a picnic, he brought and drank wine. You’d think a man who was still recovering from an accident, where he lost his best friend and sister, would abstain from any form of alcohol. There was more at play with the accident but I’m not divulging any secrets. Lets just say at this point and time, Scott thought the accident centered around alcohol. Case closed.

2.) Angels curse? Ok Lucas and Mike are NEW ANGELS so maybe that’s why they didn’t censure themselves. Maybe cursing isn’t going against the heavenly rulebook.

3.) Without giving out a spoiler, I will say I was shocked when a certain deceased individual could still get hurt/be knocked out.

Other than those three things, I rather enjoyed this book. I’m pleased to see Jacquie didn’t have the Lord appear only at the start of the book. Those who believe in HIM, hope HE watches out for us, guides us every day, will be delighted the number of times the Lord “appears” and his words of guidance. He was basically Lucas’ conscience, pointing him on the right path which is exactly what I expected of HIM to do.

I should make note of one more thing, this book does end on a CLIFFHANGER and one I think will have you anticipating book 2.
