Author Showcase / Interview – Karli Rush

1. Welcome, Karli Rush. For those who might not be familiar with you, would you be a dear and tell the readers a little about yourself? How did you get your start in the writing business?

(Karli) First, I want to say thanks for having me here today. How I got into this business? Let me see? I was visiting a good friend of mine who happened to be a practicing shaman. She sat me down and told me that my spirit was missing something. It was missing creativity, and if I found something that I loved which was also creative then it would bring a balance to me. I am a mother and wife. I am also Native American, although you probably wouldn’t guess to look at me. I am fiercely independent and love to be in the arms of a good man. I obsessed over every Stephen King book I could get my hands on as a teen. I write to be a better writer. I want everyone to “get” my books. I guess once that happens then maybe I will be a decent writer. I love “love” and all the joys of discovery that comes with a new relationship. I also love the fear that hides in the shadows. That’s why I write paranormal romance.

2. Do you ever suffer from writer’s block? If so, please share how you handle it.
(Karli) I read. When I hit that invisible wall and my fingers can’t figure out what key to hit next, I turn to the pages of authors I adore, and there are many. When I get sucked into a book it is all the therapy I need to get me back on track.

3. Contrary to what some people envision about a romance writer’s life, it’s not all glitz and glam. Well not for the majority of us. With that bubble sadly busted, when you’re not writing, how do you spend your time?
(Karli) I go mountain bike riding. I love walking in the woods. Nature is one of my best friends. I have a unique relationship with nature that I don’t quite understand. An example would be the two wild turkeys that roost on my back porch. They are more like pets by now, but it is funny to watch people that come and visit whip out their phones and start taking pictures of them, too funny.

4. I know many writers keep their pastime/career a secret. Do those close to you know you write? If so, what are their thoughts?
(Karli) My friends are supportive and several even beta read for me. It feels good to have that type of encouragement around me.

5. Will you share with us your all-time favorite authors? If you’re like me, it’s a long list so give us your top ten.
(Karli)
Stephen King!
Richelle Mead
Patricia Briggs
Gena Showalter
Kresley Cole
C.D. Reiss
Ava Lore
Andra Brynn
Andrea Randall
Teresa Mummert
(Kam) I love Gena and KC, too.

6. If you could choose one book to go to the big screen, yours or otherwise, which book would you choose and whom would you love to see cast in the parts?
(Karli) Okay, I would die to have Crescent Bound made into a movie. The cast can be anyone, but Marc should really be someone that looks like Justin Hartley. I would be so happy to have unknown actors that have talent, giving them a shot at success too.

7. Would you care to tell us what you’re working on now? That is if it’s not topsecret information. If so, just whisper it in my ear. I swear it’ll go no further.
(Karli) *leans over and whispers* I am working on a top secret project with a close friend of mine. It will be a contemporary romance.
*Back to a normal voice* I have a book cover for my next project, which is book two for the “No Death for the Wicked” series. Want to see it? No one, outside of my street team, has seen this cover. So consider this an exclusive!

8. Where can we find your stories, and is there a particular reading order?
(Karli) Below is my author page on Amazon. All my books are there and you can read any of them. My trilogy, the Bound series, should be read in order, but other than that, no order.
http://www.amazon.com/Karli-Rush/e/B007DJNOMW

9. Would you please share how your present and future fans can contact you?
(Karli) rushbound12@gmail.com Sending me an email here is the best way to contact me. .

10. Before we conclude this enlightening interview, do you have anything else you’d like to share? The stage is all yours.
(Karli) Thanks, I won’t go politician on you and rant for two pages, but I would like to give a shout out to all the Indie authors out there. Being an independent author is like being in a row boat on the ocean. We all do our best to produce the best work we can. We strive for that elusive perfect book. It is a fanatical dream to be able to publish as an indie. I know that quality is so important, from editing to story content, character and world building, and the art of telling the tale. I strive to make each book I write better than the last one and I will keep getting better. I love writing and I hope my readers enjoy the stories I create. I can’t ask for more than that.
Thanks again for allowing me to do this.

Ladies and Gents, I hope you enjoyed my interview with Karli Rush. If you have any questions or comments for her, by all means, leave Karli a message below. For now, please stick around a bit longer and check out Daylight – Book 1: Vampire Romance Novel (No Death for the Wicked).

**This paranormal vampire romance novel is intended for adults due to sexual scenes and adult language. Recommended for 18+**

In a small spectrum of the world is a city full of vampires and a very rare serum. This serum allows a vampire to walk in the light of day. The formula has been guarded for thousands of years, and yet a young female vampire from the north claims to have lived on the serum as if it is common place… This can not be… This must be dealt with. Mattie desires two things, getting Daylight back and Him.

I chunk my bag under the pedestal sink and take a look around. Red glazed-brick lined walls, a couple of oval beveled mirrors, and red clustered round lanterns hanging from the ceiling. I grip the sink with both hands and give myself a mental pat on the back for making it this far. My big brown dull eyes reflect back what I know already. I need to cater to my thirst, and soon. A loud commotion of noise directs my attention to the stalls on my right. Thumping, no, a pounding, frantically someone’s being attacked. Right here in the effin’ bathroom. The spiked scent of blood stonewalls me from twitching a muscle for a moment.

I look underneath the stall door and see two sets of feet, each pair pointing in the opposite direction. One set is definitely male, in hand-painted canvas sneakers and a female in wicked platform shoes. The male’s feet begin quivering as the attack subsides. Several minutes pass without any movement coming from the stall, I decide to stay out of this and begin to wash my hands. I glance in the mirror and see a lanky female step out and quietly close the metal door. Attached to the wicked platform shoes is a gorgeous female, with funky strips of bold scarlet hair which stamps an unforgettable impression. One look and I know she’s a very content grey-eyed vamp. How do I know she is a vampire? Her fangs retracting and the disregard she shows for what just happened, as she uses the back of her hand to wipe away a smear of blood. She sees me, smiles with complete sarcasm, then moves to the other sink and uses the mirror to check her hair and makeup. She doesn’t seem to care about the large stain of blood down the side of her white blouse.

“I know, I know… never wear white to breakfast, or dinner in my case.” She smirks at me then questions, “New in town? I mean you are at a train station.”

“Yeah, just arrived.”

“Are you here because you know someone?”

“No.”

“Do you want to know someone?”

Her question makes me snort, “Do I need to know someone?”

She reaches past me and swipes several towels out of the dispenser. “Solace is a big city and it is always good to know someone, if you’re planning to stay here.”

“City?” I mumble a bit confused.

“Yeah, it’s a city,” she wisecracks back with an arched pierced eyebrow. Drying her hands off she extends one out. “Name’s Pandora… now you know someone.”

“Mattie.” I grasp her hand quickly, making the contact short.

As she adverts back to re-adjusting her blood stained aristocratic blouse she grumbles something or other under her breath. It’s obvious it’s not the type of blouse she bought at a thrift store. All the fancy lace and pleats would have me go stir-crazy. Especially the white, I don’t do white.

“So, if you’re not here because you know someone, then you’re here for…?”

She beat me before I can ask her more about the city. I turn and lean a hip against the sink. “A serum.”

“Daylight.” She doesn’t even peek up as she states it so matter-of-factly.

“That’s the one.” I try to sound all suave and non-nonchalant about it, even though I’m screaming inside my head going where the hell can I get my hands on it?!

“Hey, I’ll tell you what… you can head back with me to my place, if you can help me not look like a fucking serial killer. You really don’t want to hang out here in the bathroom all day do you?”

“Well, since you put it that way….” I dig in my bag and pull out my Goth black hoodie, the one with the skeletal hands clutching the boobs of the wearer. I hope Pandora has a sense of humor.

She slips the hoodie on, looks in the mirror and laughs. “Wicked. How did you know that I like my men with boners?”

“Is he going to be okay in thre?” I gesture to the stall.
“Yeah, he’s sacked out for now, but he may wonder how the hell he ended up in the ladies bathroom,” she clarifies with a wink. I shrug and zip up my bag, sling it over my shoulder and reply, “Okay Pan, show me this city.”

Author Showcase / Interview – Natasja Hellenthal

It’s time for change! In a country with a cursed justice system, two women; the mysterious Queen Artride and her loyal bodyguard Tirsa, set out on a secretive perilous quest. They hope to find the sorceress, the only person powerful enough to be able to lift the curse, in Dochas; the strange Magical Land.

But they have to hurry as they only have three weeks to save Tirsa’s teenage brother’s life, sentenced to hanging for a petty crime.

They are quickly drawn to each other, however struggles and questions soon arise. Will the sorceress be willing to help them and for what price?

‘Tirsa, we have to talk this through–’

‘No,’ she answered solidly through gritted teeth, and stood.
‘No more lies, no more talking … no more!’ Moreover, she wished she had a sword or at least a knife, and while she wished it, in the corner of her eye she spotted a knife glittering in the sun, shining on the surface of the pool below the noisy waterfall. Without thinking, she picked it up in one movement and the next she stood before Artride threatening her with the knife. Visibly she was shocked, sitting and staring at Tirsa with wide-open eyes. So it is true, completely? Where did she get the knife from anyway? She must have it hidden from me all along …
‘Tirsa, for crying out loud, you are not yourself. Put away that knife … please.’ She began to fear and she showed it.
The bodyguard threw her head backwards and started laughing madly. Artride had never seen her like this before. ‘All of these things she said that mattered were desires, yes, but only some of it is true, all of what I told you! You must know that!’ she pointed out critically.
‘No,’ Tirsa answered grimly. ‘She was telling the truth if you think about it. A Woodchild doesn’t lie and after all she is a Truthteller.’ And she smiled wickedly and peered around.
‘You were actually going to stay here, weren’t you?’
‘No, Tirsa. Why can’t it be possible she is lying?’
‘Because when she focused on me … what she told about me was all true.’
Artride’s face showed signs of shock and disappointment, and that hurt Tirsa. ‘It was? You truly want to kill me?’ she saw the other woman swallow and turnher face away in shame.
‘I can do this quest alone. I don’t need you or anyone,’ she softly responded, keeping her voice plain and louder, ‘I shall succeed.’ She suddenly stepped towards the queen with the sharp blade of the knife pointed at her throat, breathing heavily, her eyes filling with tears. ‘Why?’ Her voice was breaking up halfway.
‘If you seriously believe she was telling the complete truth about you, not a mixture; you also believe there is no curse, so why would you continue this journey?’
‘I will go back alone and have my brother released! You will have no power over him or anyone anymore! You are cunning, but vicious!’
‘I never had any power, you know that,’ she stated calmly, but clearly affected by Tirsa’s words; her eyes were big and watery.
‘You have been lying! There never was a curse; it was just an excuse to make me care! I understand now. I was an easy target; perfect to come along and protect you deep into this land. You have been playing with me. Well, you got what you wanted. You stay here to settle down and do not ever come back. I will tell “your people” you are dead, like you desire; but stay out of my sight from now on.’
The shocked pale queen shook her head slowly; her face still so friendly and understanding, although stunned; Tirsa almost could not bare it.
‘I am sorry I was not honest with you about my desire for freedom to run away, but I am now,’ she tried to explain. ‘You have to believe me. There is a curse, Tirsa. Moreover, this escaping thing of mine was never a real plan; it was nothing more than a crazy idea; a desire if you like from a confused frustrated mind, no more than that. I have been desperate, so very desperate. I am telling you the absolute truth. You have to believe me, trust me, like I trusted you.’

“excellent dialogue”
“A good fantasy story especially in the lesbian genre and it doesn’t get much better”
“An excellent read for the price”
“The premise is thoroughly original. The two protagonist’s backstories were well fleshed out, and created sympathetic characters that the reader wished to see succeed. I enjoyed the Windchildren and Woodchildren very much, as well as the gods of the magical land. Sempervirens was a captivating villain as well, and I thought the author handled her quite well.”

1. Welcome,
Natasja Hellenthal. For those who might not be familiar with you, would you be
a dear and tell the readers a little about yourself? How did you get your start in
the writing business?

(NH) Thanks for
having me. Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I was born and raised in
The Netherlands; I have travelled and lived in Norway, Wales and Ireland.
Currently I’m residing in the UK.

I met my
partner five years ago, she is British and we had our civil partnership last
year on the Holy Island, Northumberland. We have two small children, two dogs
who have a love and hate relationship and a cat with no tail, called Mathilda.

As a child
I was creating little stories already when playing with my dolls and in my head
when I was supposed to be listening to the teachers at school! Over the years,
having gained more life experiences, I started to get more and more vivid
dreams which I then wrote down when I woke up. They became short stories and a couple
of novels. It’s always been more of a hobby, therapy if you like! Writing was
something I felt I had to do but I always hoped to share my spinsels with the
rest of the world.

I love
reading and learnt from the best, but I think I have found my own voice.
Since
living in the UK, I have been translating and reworking the stories and they
have been edited with a view to publishing them.
On the
first of May I finally self-published my debut Fantasy novel ‘The Queen’s
Curse’ on Amazon successfully. It has steady sales and already some great
reviews and good ratings.

2.  Do you ever suffer from writer’s block? If so, please share how you handle it.

(NH) To be
honest, a writer’s block is not something I’m familiar with as I always have so
many idea’s, so many stories still need to be written and there just isn’t
enough time. I do have less productive days or moments when I’m tired or ill
and sit behind my laptop trying to squeeze words out. Then I find it’s best not
to bother at all; as those moments are not right. You can’t force great prose
and excellent dialogue if you’re not at your best! The secret is to find the
right balance, which in every day life proves to be tricky indeed. Sometimes I
have great inspiration and want to write there and then, but cannot because of
other commitments. And when I do have time, I can’t keep my eyes open…

3. Contrary
to what some people envision about a romance writer’s life, it’s not all glitz
and glam. Well not for the majority of us. With that bubble sadly busted,
when you’re not writing, how do you spend your time?

(NH) Well, I’m
quite lucky in some respects as I’m a full time mum on maternity leave at the
moment. Having said that, I’m usually more tired than I was when I had my
office job! When I came home from seven hours behind a computer and on the
phone talking to customers, I struggled getting behind a screen again in the
evenings.

Although
it’s hard, but rewarding having two little ones (a 9 month and a 19 month), I
obviously can only write when they are asleep or when I’m on my own. In reality
that’s not much during the day, so I write mostly in the evenings. But there is
always the lack of sleep, really.
I do have a
very understanding partner, she does complain sometimes as we don’t have much
time anymore for just the two of us. I try to write three or four evenings a
week, the rest is just for us. We also try to go out on date nights. As a
family we have nice days out in the park, weekends at the zoo or holidays in
Wales by the sea.

4. I know
many writers keep their pastime/career a secret. Do
those close to you know you write? If so, what are their thoughts?

(NH) I don’t
tend to tell people I have just met, and even not all my colleagues at work
know I write, let alone that I write in the Lesbian genre. But that’s just
because I don’t like talking about myself in general or beat my own drum. And
because of that, being my own publisher, I hate doing my own marketing!

But people
who do know me a bit better know I write, that’s no secret. It’s my second
nature and sometimes they might catch me staring into space, but that comes
with the territory, writing never stops!
Close
friends all think it’s great and are really positive and encouraging. They buy
my books and tell their friends who then check out my work.

5. Will you
share with us your all-time favorite authors? If you’re like me, it’s a long
list so give us your top ten.

(NH) For sure!
One of the first authors I read as a teenager who really opened my eyes and
influenced me, both as a person and writer was Manfred Kyber. His animal stories are wonderful; very wise,
empathetic and spiritual. Frederik van
Eeden
is another of my all time favorites as he explores a lot of the human

psyche; ‘The Little Johannes’ was so deep. Robbert
Leeuw
‘s ‘De Tussen wereld’ (The World In Between, not sure if it’s

translated to English though) comforted me as a child trying to deal with my
many questions about life and death (already at such an early age!).

Then as I
grew older I discovered Science Fiction and Fantasy and devoured a lot of the
best works, especially Stephen Donaldson,
Tolkien, C.S Lewis and of course the
Queen of Fantasy; Tanith Lee, her
work is wonderful. I loved ‘The Winter Players’, her short stories and ‘The
BirthGrave’. When I was a bit older I discovered Marion Zimmer Bradley‘s writings, her Darkover series, ‘Mist of
Avalon’ and ‘Trillium’ series are enjoyable reads and have taught me how to
find my own writing style.
In my
twenties it was Hermann Hesse,
especially ‘Steppenwolf’ and ‘Siddhartha’. Lebanese writer Kahlil Gibran‘s ‘A Treasury’ is a book I often return to; it reads
like poetry. Have I already got ten? Sorry, I’ll stop here then!

6. If you
could choose one book to go to the big screen, yours or otherwise,
which book would you choose and whom would you love to see cast in the parts?

 (NH) As with
most good books that made it to the big screen, I’m always a bit skeptical when
that happens. Will the director capture the world and very essence of the story
and what the writer was trying to portrait? After all, it’s someones personal
perception of a story, but it might not be the same as mine or yours. I still
remember when I went to see ‘The Horse Whisperer’ in the cinema after having
read it. I never pictured Robert Redford as him! In my mind he was dark and
well…. younger! But I still enjoyed it, even though they changed the ending.

Tanith
Lee’s work would be hard to film I think and MZB’s ‘The Mist of Avalon’ has
already successfully been made into a movie.

I would
like to see my debut novel on the big screen of course! With two good actresses
with realistic chemistry between them playing Artride and Tirsa. Not because
it’s my own book, I’m not that vain, but because I think we owe it to our main
stream audience to finally get them to see an Epic Fantasy with two feminine
lesbians as the main protagonists. Especially now with gay-marriage being in
the news again.

7. Would
you care to tell us what you’re working on now? That is if it’s not top-secret
information. If so, just whisper it in my ear. I swear it’ll go no further.

(NH) By all
means; spread the word! I’m currently working on ‘Call Off The Search’ book 1
of ‘The Last Of The Comyenti’ Series. It is about a humanoid species who are on
the brink of extinction and their struggles both in the world and with
themselves. The main character is a strong female who battles between her love
for freedom, her duty to her species to continue their line and with her own
heart. She is bi-sexual and thus the story has both straight and gay elements
in it.

It’s
currently being edited and hopefully finished by the end of August/September
2013 at the latest (hopefully!). The cover and blurb are also done and can be
found on my blog http://natasjahellenthal.wordpress.com/ On there I will
also announce the release date.

8. Where
can we find your stories, and is there a particular reading order?

(NH) My debut
novel ‘The Queen’s Curse’ can be found on Amazon on Kindle and soon on
paperback. Find it here: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CMEQD30

Also on
SmashWords, Nook, Kobo,Lulu and all the other main stream e-readers. ‘Call Off
The Search’ will follow the same trend. I hope to publish Book 2 in the series,
‘Children Of The Sun’, later in the year!

9. Would
you please share how your present and future fans can contact you?

(NH) Sure, they
can contact me by leaving a review on Amazon or Goodreads http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/17900869-the-queen-s-curse Google+  or on my facebook fanpage https://www.facebook.com/pages/Natasja-Hellenthal/379200808864872?bookmark_t=page

10. Before
we conclude this enlightening interview, do you have anything else you’d like
to share? The stage is all yours.

(NH) I would
first like to thank you for the opportunity to have my little say and thank my
readers for buying my books and sharing their opinions of them. It is nice to
know people enjoy my brainchildren!

Interview with Cleo Taurus

Welcome, Cleo Taurus!

1.  For those who might not be
familiar with you, would you be a dear and tell the readers a little about
yourself? How did you get your start in the writing business?

(CT) Actually,
I got my real start as a role player in a couple of Facebook groups. I honed my
writing skills there, but I have been writing stories and poems since I was a
child. I love to write, and having been so blessed to be given a chance by a
wonderful group of people, I am now happier than I ever was.

2. Do you ever suffer from writer’s block? If so, please share how you handle it.

(CT) I walk away. I have to otherwise
all I do is sit there and stare at the computer, which only makes it worse. I
try to clear my mind, take a walk or something like that. Sometimes it helps;
sometimes I just have to wait till the story starts talking to me again.

3. Contrary to what some people envision about a romance
writer’s life, it’s not all glitz and glam. Well not for the majority of us.
With that bubble sadly busted, when you’re not writing, how do you spend
your time?

(CT) I read a lot, every day as a matter of fact. I have three
wonderful grandkids I spend a lot of time with. I like to be outside when I
can. I love to take pictures and I watch a lot of History channel!

4. I know many writers keep their pastime/career a secret. Do those close to you know you write? If so, what are
their thoughts?

(CT) Very few know the real me, for the simple fact of the kind
of books I write. I have already had to deal with one judgmental fool; I don’t
want to have to do it again. However, having said that, those that do know what
I write are one hundred percent supportive!

5. Will you share with us your all-time favorite authors? If
you’re like me, it’s a long list so give us your top ten.

(CT) Lol ok, let’s see if I can narrow it down. Well, Shayla
Black is my all time favorite author, and then Lora Leigh comes in a close
second. After that its Cherise Sinclair, Angel Payne, J.R. Ward, Laurell K.
Hamilton, Sherrilyn Kenyon, Maya Banks, and Lexi Blake.  Also, I do have to mention a couple of new
authors who will be doing big things in the future, Ava Snow, Harper Jewell and
Oliver Lixx.

6. If you could choose one book to go to the big screen,
yours or otherwise,
which book would you choose and whom would you love to see cast in the parts?

(CT) If I were totally honest, I would like to see my series
Michael: the black room series made into a movie. There is an actor, Colin
Cunningham who I always imagined would be my Michael, and for Elizabeth it would
have to be Scarlett Johannsen, and for Michael’s true love, Kathleen, it would
be Amy Adams.

7. Would you care to tell us what you’re working on now?
That is if it’s not top-secret information. If so, just whisper it in my ear. I
swear it’ll go no further.

(CT) The wonderful Ava Snow and I are working on a two part story
called Governmental affairs, about two men who find love, and I’m currently
working on a new series called the Spanking Bench Confessionals which I
guarantee will be hot! But the one I am most looking forward to is one story
called “The Arrangement. It is so completely different from anything I’ve ever
written or read, I can’t wait to share it with everyone!

8. Where can we find your stories, and is there a particular
reading order?

(CT) With the Black Room series, there is a reading order,
Michael one, Michael two and Michael 3. The rest of my stories are in no
particular order, and you can find them on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and All
romance.

9. Would you please share how your present and future fans
can contact you?

(CT) Of course!

cleotaurus.blogspot.com

10. Before we conclude this enlightening interview, do you
have anything else you’d like to share? The stage is all yours.

(CT) I want to thank all the fans who have spent their hard
earned dollars on my stories. I write what I feel; some of my stories are from
my real life somehow. I have some wonderful friends who have helped me every
step of the way, given me guidance and held my hand when I was down. I write
what I would like to read, if I were the customer. I would love to hear from
fans, to let me know what they think! Thank you for allowing me a voice, I
can’t tell you how much that means to me.

Check out this hot number!

Assistant extraordinaire, Gracie, is the perfect aide to two of the best lawyers in the state.

Matthew and Malcom have everything money can buy, except that one special woman to share it with.

When a surprising opportunity presents itself, will Gracie be brave enough to step fully into the world of kink and become the kind of woman the brothers could grow to love or will her own inadequacies squash any chance of happiness for all three involved?

Author Showcase – P.T. Macias

Note from the author!!

Thank you for the invite. It’s a pleasure to be visiting you and sharing my De La Cruz Saga. The De La Cruz Saga is an amazing emotional roller coaster ride of romance, suspense, and intense passion. Its steamy material is a little erotic. The stories are well written, full of Mexican traditions, and culture. Enjoy their explosively passionate nature.

De La Cruz Saga contains Spanish. Saga has a subtle influence of Spanish and the Spanish becomes more laced (as the story progresses). I write in the present tense because I believe it puts the reader “IN” the action, rather than as part of an “after thought”. I believe it brings the characters to life! My writing is not traditional literature. It does not have the fluff (excessive description, stage, settings, prose). My intent is to have the reader visualize and feel the characters story. This is my voice, my style. Dare to read the awesome De La Cruz Saga that’s full of passion and suspense.

The saga is a twelve book series. I have eight out and four more should be out by the end of December 2013.

Later in the
day, they’re in the Eve’s Pleasures store. Alex is going crazy with all of the
sexy small boy shorts, bikini’s, thongs with the matching bras. “Baby, look at
this Baby doll,” says Alex. He pulls one out from the rack, a sexy black baby
doll. “I want this.”
“Si, Alex, I
like it,” says Carolina. I’m pleased that
he enjoys picking out my clothes.
“Baby, I want
you to try it on,” says Alex. His eyes sparkle wickedly. He walks to the
fitting rooms. He strides to the last one and goes inside with her. He sits in
the chair that’s in the dressing room. “I want to help you try it on.”
Yeah, I know what he wants, thinks
Carolina, smiling. “Si, Alex, I want to try it on,” she says. She pulls off her
clothes and puts on the Baby doll. She turns to look at Alex.
“Baby, you look
hot and sexy; my mouth waters,” says Alex, pulling her into his arms. Urgently,
he runs his hands over her breasts, savoring the feel of the silky material. The baby doll is a sexy black silk material
that clings to my baby’s awesome breasts
. Oh damn, I’m aching for her. “Baby, I want you,” he whispers. He

takes a nibble and sucks her nipple over the material moaning.
“Alex,” she
says, pulling him up for a beso. Carolina unzips his pants and pulls him out.
“So good,” she whispers. She kisses and sucks his neck, marking him. She
impales his hot aching shaft deeply, riding him hard.
Alex kisses her
deeply, devouring her mouth, muffling their sounds of pleasure. They hold on
tight and sear their almas as they reach heaven.

Claudia De La Cruz is a sexy, intelligent,
dedicated, and beautiful FBI agent! She worked hard to achieve her dream. She’s
too busy to fall in love. She never had an amor! She’s waiting for her alma
gemela (soul mate)!
Roberto De León sprints into her life! Time
and danger brings them together and tears them apart!

~ Delightful excerpt ~

Wow,
what’s going on? What’s all that commotion here in my casa
, thinks Claudia.
She runs out of her room and down the
hall. She meets her Padres (parents).
“What’s going on?” asks Claudia.
“We don’t know,” replies Papa Jorge.
Claudia urgently strides to the front
door. She sees Veronica and Christopher walking after Roberto.
Oh
dios mio that’s my Roberto!

“Roberto, wait!” yells Claudia. She runs out the door after him. “Baby!”
“I don’t want to hear you lie!” yells
Roberto. He attempts to hurry to the suv.
“Baby, what’s wrong?” asks Claudia,
passing Veronica and Christopher.
“Hermana (sister), he saw Christopher and
me kissing. I think that he thought I was you,” says Veronica, walking behind
Claudia.
“Hey, amigo, wait up!” says Christopher,
sprinting after Roberto. “You have it all wrong.”
Roberto hears Claudia and the other
voices. Hmm, that’s three voices and not
two. One is Claudia,
he thinks. He turns around, furious and curious.
“Baby,” yells Claudia, running to
Roberto. “Please, listen to me.”
Roberto stands stupefied. Oh, dios mio! What a fucking fool I am. I
forgot about her twin. I saw her in his arms and thought it was my Baby. The
rage and frustration that I felt ten years ago, came rushing back. It was worse
this time, because Claudia is my mujer
, ponders Roberto. He’s in a daze.
Roberto stares at Veronica, feeling
Claudia run into his arms. Damn, she’s
identical to my Claudia, but she’s different
. He gazes down into Claudia’s

beautiful eyes.
“Baby, te amo!” says Claudia. She gazes
into his confused, pained beautiful brown eyes. “That’s my hermana, Veronica.”
Roberto closes his eyes tight. Wow, damn it! I made a huge mistake. I
almost walked away from my amor, my alma gemela, and my world.
He opens his eyes and gazes into
Claudia’s beautiful face. He pulls her close, burying his face into her neck. Yes, this is my Claudia. I feel her, she’s
mia, only mia
, he thinks.
“Amor, your mia, only mia!” he growls
into her ear. He ignores the pain at his side. He holds her tight.
Claudia moves her head and gives him a
hungry beso. She wraps her arms around his neck.
Oh,
damn yes. This is my Baby, my Amor
,

thinks Roberto. He hungrily returns her beso. He holds her tight. I’ve been dreaming of this moment for a long
time.

Interview with Allan Yoskowitz

Welcome, Allan Yoskowitz!

1. For those who might not be familiar with you, would you be a dear and tell the readers a little about yourself? How did you get your start in the writing business?

(AY) I’m thirty-five years old, and I run my father’s accounting firm. I’m something like a cross between an office manager, a clerk, a secretary, and I don’t know what else. I just do whatever needs to get done in that office, and I make sure that everything stays operating to the best of my ability.

I also train in Tae Kwon Do under Grand Master Heung Taek (Ben) Hur. I’ve been training with him for over twenty years, and am a Third Dan black belt, currently preparing to test for my Fourth degree.

As for writing, it began in school. I’ve been writing since I was in elementary school, but I started writing science-fiction at some point in sixth or seventh grade. What eventually became Codename: Winterborn and its universe got its first beginnings in doodles and short stories I wrote sitting in high school literary magazine meetings.

2. Do you ever suffer from writer’s block? If so, please share how you handle it.

(AY) Well, I know that the best way to get out of “block” is just to keep chipping  away at it, but that doesn’t seem to work all that well for me. I guess I have to look around at other types of writing and get interested in them – for example, once, when I was bored with the story I was writing, I started working on a screenplay just as a writing exercise. It helped me out a bit.

3. Contrary to what some people envision about a romance writer’s life, it’s not all glitz and glam. Well not for the majority of us. With that bubble sadly busted, when you’re not writing, how do you spend your time?

(AY) Outside of work? It depends on the time of week. Sometimes, it’ll be training at my Tae Kwon Do dojang, and other times it might just be playing some video games, watching a movie, reading something, or sometimes just writing. It’s important to stay relaxed and healthy.

4. I know many writers keep their pastime/career a secret. Do those close to you know you write? If so, what are their thoughts?

(AY) Well, for me, I have the full support of my family – especially my wife. She’s  proven to be part editor, part creative consultant and main sustenance provider. So, for the most part, I’m encouraged to write when the notion takes me, and my family helps me by giving me the space to do it.

5. Will you share with us your all-time favorite authors? If you’re like me, it’s a long list so give us your top ten.
(AY) My top ten all-time favorites? That’s not an easy one… but if it has to be ten?
** David Eddings **
(The Belgariad/Malloreon as well as the Elenium/Tamuli)
** Terry Goodkind **
(Sword of Truth series)

** Douglas Addams **
(The Hitchhiker’s Guide, of course…)

** Stephen King **
(though after the Dark Tower fiasco I was more than a little perturbed at him… we were waiting for an ending… not another loop through.

** Isaac Asimov **
(I, Robot… amongst his other works…)

** Art Spiegelman **
(The Complete Maus)

** Frank Miller **
(Batman: The Dark Knight Returns)

** David Duncan **
(The Seventh Sword Saga)

** Piers Anthony **
(Incarnations of Immortality)
and, as number ten…
** Suzanne Collins **
(Hunger Games…) and before anyone says anything, yes I know it’s a young adult novel… but my wife and I read it to each other out loud, so it has something of a special meaning to me)

6. If you could choose one book to go to the big screen, yours or otherwise, which book would you choose and whom would you love to see cast in the parts?

(AY) Wow… our group of friends has actually had whole conversations based just  on that question. Sure, I would love to have Codename: Winterborn on the silver screen!

At the same time, though, I can probably rattle off a whole list of other works that deserve to be given that treatment. As for casting… I think I would like for some of the major roles to go in to actors just breaking in to the field – or to actors now known for television roles.

For example, I think Stephen Amell (currently on Arrow) would make for a good Kevin Anderson. At one point, we thought Mia Kirshner would have been great for the character of Mandy, but that was a while ago.

7. Would you care to tell us what you’re working on now? That is if it’s not top-secret information. If so, just whisper it in my ear. I swear it’ll go no further.

(AY) Declan and I are working on the sequel to Codename: Winterborn. So far, the working title is Codename: Unsub.

8. Where can we find your stories, and is there a particular reading order?
(AY) Codename: Winterborn is my first published work, found on Amazon.com,  but other than that you would have to hunt down my high school and college papers and such – and I don’t think that would work too well.

9. Would you please share how your present and future fans can contact you?
(AY) Well, Declan and I have a Facebook page up for Winterborn, and I have a  page of my own. Of course, there’s always e-mail, but I prefer not to give that out on the internet.

10. Before we conclude this enlightening interview, do you have anything else you’d like to share? The stage is all yours.
(AY) Oh, great… now I have stage fright! I guess I would like to add that working through the process of writing this novel has been somewhat a labor of love. I’ve been at it for what seems like an incredibly long time, and to finally have it published – to have the book in my hand is a heady, intoxicating feeling. Was it a pain at times? Yes. Were there moments where I would have liked to just scrap the whole thing? Sure. Did I doubt we would get there? To the point where the book is in my hand? Yes. But was it worth the pain, the doubt and the headaches? Oh yeah. If you’re a writer, go for it! Don’t let anyone stop you until you are satisfied with your work.
