Review of “Ruin and Rule” – Pepper Winters

She is a woman divided. Her past, present, and future are as twisted as the lies she’s lived for the past eight years. Desperate to get the truth, she must turn to the one man who may also be her greatest enemy . . .

He is the president of Pure Corruption MC. A heartless biker and retribution-deliverer. He accepts no rules, obeys no one, and lives only to reap revenge on those who wronged him. And now he has stolen her, body and soul.

Can a woman plagued by mystery fall in love with the man who refuses to face the truth? And can a man drenched in darkness forgo his quest for vengeance-and finally find redemption?

—–> REVIEW <—–
Let me start off this review saying I love the cover. Hot! Hot! HOT!!! It made me miss Sons of Anarchy. I had high hopes this story would help me with my SOA withdrawals. At first, for a brief moment, it did. Then, things went south……FAST.
I don’t care how much pain/hurt Arthur (Kill) endured when Sarah/Cleo supposedly died all those years ago. He had NO RIGHT to abuse her, physically and mentally, because he didn’t believe she was in fact the woman he fell in love with, lost. He couldn’t believe she was really her so that justified him kicking her, choking her, attempting to sell her —- I DON’T EFFIN’ THINK SO.
She held onto the hope he would realize his error and finally believe, see her. When he did, he attempted to keep his distance and she pursued him. WTBH!!!!
Since when are abusive men the heroes of a story? Since when do authors feel readers see men like that as “men of their dreams”?
I don’t care how much pain he suffered with her assumed passing. NO MAN SHOULD EVER STRIKE A WOMAN. PERIOD.
That’s not a love story. I don’t care if he apologized a million times over. Abuse is never okay and I’ll never support it. I won’t support this author either. (No purchase links provided)

  1. I have this book and the cover is tempting , but now after reading this review makes me wonder if I want to read it , I'm not a supporter of this abuse to anyone !!!!

    • The biker thought she was lying, playing mind games with him, so he thought abusing her was okay. NOT HARDLY. I wanted to chuck this out the door.

  2. renee

I will have to pass on this book. The cover was okay but to beat a woman I will pass on this book

  3. Thank you for sharing. The cover really does draw you in. I don't do abuse….for any reason or to anyone / any animal. I can't understand why anyone would put up with abuse no matter how many times he said he would change or how much she wanted him to change. I will have to pass on this book also.
