Prequel to Viking Fire
Genre: Historical Romance
Forthcoming – February 2015
In Medieval times, Bram has agreed to a marriage of
convenience with an Irish nobleman’s daughter. A marriage bargain is struck in
exchange for land and his services fighting with the Laird Liannon’s clan
against all rivals: Norsemen and Irish alike. However, Bram’s intended does not
stir his heart. Not like the Laird’s daughter, Kaireen. Unknowingly, Kaireen
has captured his Viking heart.
Somehow, he must not only convince the Laird to amend his
marriage contract, but win the heart of the stubborn feisty Kaireen in this
Viking historical romance.

Near
the beach, the man quit rowing and yanked out a knife.

Bram
didn’t move. “You go against your Captain’s orders t—”

“You
made it to shore. That’s all we’s promised.” He spat at Bram’s boots. “No one said
anything about you living afterwards.”
When he dove forward, Bram ducked to the side and snatched the sailor’s arm,
pinning it to his side. When the sailor slung with his free arm, Bram increased
the pressure until the man was on his knees.

“Cease,
or I will break your arm.” If it wasn’t for his pledge to Morga, he’d have
snapped the man’s arm already. Once his contract was signed with the Laird,
then he’d be free to fight in Ireland—or at least against other Vikings and
rival Irishmen. The man continued to struggle, “Or perhaps a leg as well? What
will your Captain say if you return without your weapon and injured? Will he be
merciful and allow you to recover or throw you to the sharks?”

“Heathen
scum!” He twisted his body to escape Bram’s grip.

As
he did, Bram snapped the man’s wrist backward and the first mate let out a howl
before the blade came closer to Bram’s chest.

“Now,
hand me the knife.” When the man glared at him, he increased pressure on the
bent wrist. “Or this heathen might do worse so that not even the sharks would
want you.”

The
first mate gulped and released his hold of the knife.

Bram
broke his hold and snatched the blade out of the air before it hit the water.
“Tell your Captain, I will not forget his hospitality nor will any of my eight brothers.”

The
man paled. “What brings you to our island? To rape our women and pillage our
churches?”

“No.” Bram rose and tucked the small
blade into his boot. “To find my bride.”

In 856 CE, Ireland is a land of myth, magic, and blood. Viking raiders have fought the Irish for over half a century. Rival Irish clans promise only betrayal and carnage.

Kaireen, daughter of Laird Liannon, is suddenly forced into an arranged marriage with her sworn enemy, a Viking. She refuses to submit. With no mention of love, only land and the protection of her clan, she endeavors to get her betrothed banished from her country. Will love find its way around her stubborn heart?

Bram, the Viking, finds himself without future or inheritance as a younger son in his family. A marriage to the Laird’s daughter would grant him land if he swears fidelity and if his men will fight along with the Liannons against any foe—Irish or Viking. However, the Laird’s feisty daughter only holds animosity for him and his kind. Is marriage worth the battle scars of such a relentless opponent?

With the blame for a rival laird’s death treacherously set against the Liannons, Kaireen and Bram must find a way to lay aside their differences as an unforeseen darkness sends death snapping at their heels.

Welcome, Andrea R. Cooper!!

1.  For those who might not be
familiar with you, would you be a dear and tell the readers a little about
yourself? How did you get your start in the writing business?

(Andrea) Ever since I can remember, I’ve created characters and
stories. The neighborhood kids came to me asking what we were going to play as
I set the stage from Space Vampires to Joan of Arc. However, I didn’t being
writing novels until in my thirties.
2.  All writers fear
the dreaded “block”. Please tell us how you handle it.
(Andrea) I think because I work full-time, have three kids (two under
the age of 6), that I suffer more from lack of writing-time than block.
However, when it has hit, I move onto another story or a juice scene in the
book I can’t wait to write. When all else fails, I start cleaning the house.
While I love a clean house, I detest cleaning so it’s not too long before my
Muse returns and begs me to write.
3. Contrary to what some people envision about a romance
writer’s life, it’s not all glitz and glam. Well not for the majority of us.
With that bubble sadly busted, when you’re not writing, how to do you spend
your time?
(Andrea) I spend my time working a full-time job, taking care of my
family, scrambling to make it to Zumba class ontime (one of these days), and
reading. Not much time to do much else. And I’m the multi-tasking mom. For
example, I’ll watch one of my favorite shows I recorded (to zip through the
commercials) while I fold clothes while hubby is giving the kids a bath. Or
I’ll do the dishes while dinner is cooking and ask my six year old how his day
at school was.
4. I know many writers, such as myself, keep their
pastime/career a secret. Do those close to you know you write? If so, what are
their thoughts?
(Andrea) Yes, my family and friends know I write. My writing name is
my real name. If I had to do it over, they would still know, but I’d use a pen
name so it wouldn’t interfere with my work.
5. Will you share with us your all time favorite authors? If
you’re like me, it’s a long list so give us your top ten.
(Andrea) Yes, I do have a long list J  T.F. Walsh, Tmonique Stephens, Anne Bishop,
Kim Harrison, Terry Goodkind, JK Rowling, PC Cast, Gena Showalter, Laurel K.
Hamilton, and Yasmine Galenorn.
6. If you could choose one book to go to the big screen,
yours or otherwise, which book would you choose and whom would you love see
casted in the parts?
(Andrea) Over a decade ago, my dream was to become a published
writer. I’m amazed and grateful that I am. So the next big dream, after selling
tons of books, would be to see one of my novels on the big screen. I would pick
my debut novel as it would connect to Fantasy and Game of Thrones/Lord of the
Rings readers.
Eduardo Verastegui as Brock (if you’ve never heard of Eduardo,
look him up – I promise you won’t be disappointed.)
Elisha Cuthbert as Celeste
Esai Morales as the Warloc (this is old German spelling)
Barry Bostwick as Nivel
7. Would you care to tell us what you’re working on now?
That is if it’s not top-secret information. If so, just whisper it in my ear. I
swear it’ll go no further.
(Andrea) I’m a multi-tasker, remember? So I’ve got several active
manuscripts I’m writing. In order of nearest completion: Fallen – Claimed Book 2, War
of Darkness
– Legends of Oblivion Book 3, Captive Hearts – Hearts series Book 2, and Viking Blaze – Viking Fire Book 2.
8. Where can we find your stories and is there a particular
reading order?
(Andrea) Ebook-wise, all my novels are at Amazon. Paperbacks are at
Amazon, Barnes & Nobel, Kobo, etc. My series should be read in order. The
exception is Cursed – Legends of
Oblivion Book 1.5. I wrote it as a bridge between books 1 and 2, however some
readers have read it first then moved onto book 2.
9. Would you please share how your present and future fans
can contact you?
