Synopsis of Collection
Alpha shifters are on the prowl, and they’re used to getting what they want. But there’s more to claiming a destined mate than raw power, and they’ll have to prove themselves worthy – in more ways than one.
Alphas on the Prowl is page after page of passion and pleasure in this box set featuring eleven tantalizing shapeshifter tales from NY Times and USA Today best selling authors.
Quite a few weeks ago, I got an invitation to participate in a shifter romance box set. I was so excited to get into this one, and especially to be with so many excellent authors. When we got the covers (flat and 3D), I almost squealed. I’ll admit it. Things like seeing our covers for the first time, getting glowing reviews and hearing from readers never gets old. Speaking for myself, and a few close author friends, we all can’t get over the excitement when a new cover comes in, or when we get a great review. Getting the chance to be involved in such a fantastic project is just as exciting. Enough gushing, though, time for details.
As she allowed him to ravish her with his fingers, she moaned. “Don’t let me have all the fun. Let me return the favor.”
Derek just chuckled, the vibrations from his throat passing through his mouth into her body and almost sending her over the edge. He must have realized how close she was to climaxing as he slowly kissed his way up her abdomen toward her breasts, following with his hands on their own trail up her body.
“No way, baby. This night – this first time – is all for you. And I’m going to make it an experience you’ll never forget.” He started massaging her breasts, alternating nipples between his fingers and mouth, never leaving either unattended. He nibbled and licked, tweaked and squeezed, the sensations driving her crazy but allowing her body to ease back from the edge. It was clear he wasn’t interested in rushing her orgasm, oblivious to her body language begging for release.
Krissy allowed her mind to drift into a fog of pleasure, only focusing on Derek’s hands and mouth as he paid divine attention to her body in ways she’d never experienced. No part of her body was neglected. She felt his hands cup her cheeks as his lips gently pressed against hers before moving to her nose. When he gently kissed each of her closed eyelids, she found the sensation surprisingly erotic. His kisses softly traced where her eyelids met from the inside corner out on each eye, his breath cooling skin that was moist from his tongue.
Derek then kissed his way to her right ear and her hands flew to his shoulders, keeping him there. His gentle lips played with her earlobe and his breath in her ear – on her neck – sent shivers down her spine, and yet another moan found its own sound as it passed her plump lips.
“You really know how to tease a girl, you know that?” Her voice was husky, lust-filled, and she was rewarded with another deep chuckle from him.
Phoenix Johnson is an Australian author who has always had the passion for the written word. She had her nose in at least one book ever since she could read and would even scrutinize the back of the cereal box every morning at breakfast. It was only natural she take up writing.
Phoenix had her first novella published in Januray 2013 as well as multiple works in progress, and her favourite writing genres are the same as her reading genres; erotica, romance, paranormal, thriller and a combination of these.
In early 2015, her books were nominated for the first annual Easy Chair Bookstore awards. Books 1 and 2 of Wolf Smitten both made the Top 5 in the Paranormal category, and Wolf Smitten as a whole made the Top 5 in the Series category, with winners to be announced June 1 2015. Phoenix is incredibly honoured to make 2 different category finalists, and to have 3 chances to win.
