When Detective Logan Riske goes undercover to find Pepper Yates, a potential link to his best friend’s unsolved murder, he vows to gain her cooperation by any means necessary. But the elusive beauty is more suspicious—and in far more danger—than he expected. And the last thing Logan needs is to start caring for her…
Pepper has spent years dodging the corrupt club owner who will stop at nothing to keep her silenced. She can trust no one, not even the handsome new “construction worker” who’s moved in next door. The heat between them is undeniable. But will surrendering to passion bring her the safety she so desires—or will her feelings for Logan draw them both into a killer’s crosshairs?
I love a man who can see past unfashionable clothes/hair and see the beauty lying deep within a woman. Pepper did alter her appearance on purpose to stay off the radar, but Logan fell for her anyways. When she finally reverted to her “old self”, he was shocked but equally turned on by her.
Their road to HEA wasn’t easy. Logan did use her, deceive her and arrested her brother but he did have his reasons. This is where Sue (fake identity) went from mouse to lioness (Pepper, real identity).
Wicked good read and I can’t wait to read Dash and Rowdy’s tales.

No, you are not losing your mind. I did, in fact, review this book a few short days ago. However, it is technically in the Love Undercover series. I added it to the
Men Who Walk the Edge of Honor review collection for two reasons –
1.) It was listed as the final book in the Men of Honor series due to Trace and Alice being in it.
2.) I read it before purchasing the Love series.
FYI: I am so glad I did!!
For those who missed my rating of this story. I will refresh your memory on what I scored it and include the purchase links……
