Author Interview – Jennifer Labelle

 Welcome, Jennifer Labelle!

1.  For those who might not be familiar with you, would you be a dear
and tell the readers a little about yourself? How you got your start in the
writing business?

(JL) Absolutely, I reside in Ottawa, Ontario Canada with my husband and
three beautiful children. After my third child I became a stay at home
mom. In my busy household I like to spend my down time engrossed
in the stories that I create. I’m an active reader of romance
(especially historical), mystery and anything paranormal, and I was
first published in February 2011.

2.  All writers fear the dreaded “block”. Please
tell us how you handle it.

(JL) I walk away from it for a few days to give myself a break, and grab a
good book to read. It’s frustrating when the dreaded block occurs I won’t deny
it, but thankfully for me it hasn’t lasted very long when it happens.

3.  Contrary to what some people envision about a
romance writer’s life, it’s not all glitz and glamor. Well not for the majority
of us. With that bubble sadly busted, when you’re not writing, how to do you
spend your time?

(JL) With my children…lol I’m a mother and wife first and foremost, and a
writer second. My children are 11, 6, and 4 so I’m sure you can imagine how
busy they keep me.

4.  I know many writers, such as Dirk and myself,
keep their pastime/career a secret. Do those close to you know you write? If
so, what are their thoughts?

(JL) Most of them do. It’s hard to tell you
what they think of it though. I’ve never asked, the majority seem to be proud
of my accomplishments, but there have been a few who seemed offended that I
chose to write romance, especially with some of my more erotic stories.
*shrugs*

The
thing is, I’ve got to do what makes me happy and I try not to sweat about the
small stuff you know?

5.  Will you share with us your all time favorite
authors? If you’re like me, it’s a long list so give us your top ten.

(JL) Sure, these are in no particular order though:
Lauren
Dane, Danielle Steel, Deanna Raybourn, Kathy Love, Keri Arthur, Maya Banks,
Nora Roberts, Jennifer Ashley, Richie Tankersly Cusick, Heather Graham…

I
have so many favorites I could definitely go on and on.

6.  If you could choose one book to go to the big
screen, yours or otherwise, which book would you choose and whom would you love
see casted in the parts?

(JL) Wow, this is a tough question. There are so many books I’d love to see
go to the big screen.

Can
I choose all of mine? LOL
Kidding,
if I could only choose one of my books to go to the big screen, it would
probably be the one I’m working on now, Broken Survivor. The cast? Well, since I’m
still writing the book I haven’t got that far yet.

I’d
also love to see Keri Arthurs Riley Jensen Guardian Series go to the big
screen… *winks* If any of you haven’t read that series you really should.

Kathy
Love’s Any Way You Want It, Jennifer Ashley’s Shifter’s Unbound series… You get
the point.

7.  Would you care to tell us what you’re working
on now? That is if it’s not top-secret information. If so, just whisper it in
my ear. I swear it’ll go no further.

(JL) That would be Broken Survivor.
*grins*
Here
is a rough blurb:

After witnessing her
mother’s murder, Holly Hewitt struggles to cope. Parentless by a very young age
the only thing she longs for is acceptance and a place to call home. She’s
given up hope and is left to fend for herself, until the one person she’s
afraid to trust teaches her that life is worth living and love is worth the
fight to go on.

Alexander Adams is young, carefree, good looking, and isn’t really looking for
anything permanent in his life, especially when it comes to women. Until,
Holly, came into his life. The beautiful messed up vixen has him turned inside
out and longing to be with her. She’s had a hard life and is fighting her
attraction for him, but with a little persistence he’s determined to become her
very own modern day hero.

8.  Where can we find your stories and is there a
particular reading order?

(JL) You can find my stories here, in no particular order:

And I have a couple of them on Kobo.

9.   Would you please share how your present and
future fans can contact you?

(JL) Here are my author sites:

10.  Before we wrap up this enlightening interview,
do you have anything else you’d like to share? The stage is all yours.

(JL) I’d just like to thank you for hosting me today and everyone else for
joining in. I love to meet new potential readers and fans.
