Interview with Julez Morbuis

Welcome, J S Morbius. For those who might not be familiar with you, would you be a dear and tell the readers a little about yourself? How did you get your start in the writing business?

I am a partially disabled 44 year old father to 9 kids, six of my own and three step children. I began writing when a marriage I was in started to go sour and started to post what I had written on, never really thinking my writing would go any further than that.

All writers fear the dreaded “block”. Please tell us how you handle it.

Not very well because when the block hits I get frustrated and try even harder to write which just makes the block even worse. Eventually I end up giving up nd have a few hours on either the playstation or playstation vita to calm myself down.

Contrary to what some people envision about a romance writer’s life, it’s not all glitz and glam. Well not for the majority of us. With that bubble sadly busted, when you’re not writing, how to do you spend your time?

Console and handheld gaming, reading, watching sport or even playing the parent lol

I know many writers, such as Dirk and myself, keep their pastime/career a secret. Do those close to you know you write? If so, what are their thoughts?

Most people know what I write and most of them don’t bat an eyelid but there is one person who isn’t too happy that I write ‘filth’ as she puts it- still love you though mum.

Will you share with us your all time favorite authors? If you’re like me, it’s a long list so give us your top ten.

James Herbert (The Rats was the first novel I ever read)

Stephen King

Kathy Reichs

Patricia Cornwell

Karen Rose

Shaun Hutson

If you could choose one book to go to the big screen, which book would you choose and whom would you love see casted in the parts?

If I can’t nominate my own book, Star Search, for the big screen treatment then to be honest I’m not really sure. Karen Rose’s thrillers would make good movies though.

Would you care to tell us what you’re working on now? That is if it’s not top-secret information. If so, just whisper it in my ear. I swear it’ll go no further.

Funny you should ask that because I have just started a brand new piece of m/m fiction thanks to a picture I saw while looking for images for my XXX Special in The Crypt of Morbius. So far it hasn’t got a final name but I have one or two ideas I’m playing around with.

Where can we find your stories and is there a particular reading order?

All my books can be found at, ARe, Amazon, Smashwords

Would you please share how your present and future fans can contact you?

You can get hold of me via e-mail at, via facebook at, via twitter @JSMorbius or in The Crypt of Morbius at

Before we wrap up this enlightening interview, do you have anything else you’d like to share? The stage is all yours.

I’d just like to thank all those that have already purchased my books and hope you continue to enjoy whatever may come from the Mind of Morbius in the future.

There you have it, ladies and gents. I want to again thank J S Morbius for stopping by and I look forward to the next time we can sit down and dish.
